Business Analyst
About the opportunity
Data and information are at the core of Swiss Re’s business and a key enabler for risk management, underwriting and client service. A critical part of this capability is how we govern, manage and use business records across their lifecycle, ensuring that records are complete, reliable, accessible and managed in line with legal, regulatory and business requirements.
As Business Analyst in the central Records Management team, you will help translate business needs into practical solutions that improve how records management works across Swiss Re. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Records Management experts and technology teams to understand current practices, identify pain points and requirements, and support the design and adoption of improved processes, tools and ways of working.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can combine strong customer orientation, analytical thinking and change management capabilities with the ability to bridge business and technology. You will play an important role in helping teams understand what good records management means in practice and in turning business requirements into clear inputs for technology, process and implementation teams.
Main responsibilities:
- Work with business stakeholders, Records Management experts and technology teams to understand current records management practices, challenges and improvement opportunities
- Analyse business needs, operating models and user requirements, and translate them into clear functional and non-functional requirements for process, technology and implementation teams
- Support the design and documentation of improved records management processes, roles, responsibilities and ways of working
- Help identify gaps, risks and pain points in how records are created, used, stored, retained and disposed of across different business areas
- Prepare clear documentation, requirements, process maps, meeting outputs and other materials to support decision-making and delivery
- Contribute to change management and adoption activities, helping business teams understand new or improved records management practices and what is expected from them
- Support stakeholder engagement by gathering feedback, clarifying needs and ensuring that practical business considerations are reflected in proposed solutions
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, IT, Operations and other relevant teams to ensure Records Management requirements are aligned with broader control, process and technology exectations
- Track actions, dependencies and follow-ups related to Records Management transformation activities, ensuring progress is visible and well coordinated
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Records Management governance, standards, controls and supporting tools
About the Team
The Records Management Transformation team is part of the central Records Management function, with a global mandate and a strong presence in Bratislava. The team works in close collaboration with record owners and stewards across Swiss Re, as well as with RM Operations and Governance teams. Working closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Technology, the team plays a central role in strengthening governance, supporting regulatory compliance, and enabling the effective and secure management of records across their lifecycle.
About you
You are a structured and customer-oriented Business Analyst with experience in business analysis, process improvement, change management or a related field, ideally within a regulated financial services environment. You are comfortable working across business and technology, and you can turn complex information into clear requirements, practical outputs and well-supported decisions.
- Strong customer orientation and the ability to understand stakeholder needs, challenges and ways of working
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear inputs for technology, process and implementation teams
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to structure complex information and identify gaps, risks and improvement opportunities
- Confidence in engaging with stakeholders across business, Records Management, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations and Technology
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to ask the right questions, document outcomes and explain requirements in a practical way
- An organised and proactive working style, with the ability to manage multiple topics, follow up on actions and support delivery in a changing environment
Nice to have
- Experience with records management, information governance, document management or related control environments
- Exposure to technology-enabled transformation, process automation or implementation of new tools and ways of workin.
- Experience preparing business requirements, process maps, user stories, meeting outputs or project documentation
- Understanding of regulatory, compliance, risk or audit expectations in a financial services environment
- Relevant certifications in business analysis, change management, project management, records management or information governance
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,100] and [EUR 3,400] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
