Business Architect

About the role

You are an engaged individual with hands on knowledge of portfolio architecture and the role it plays in efficiently adopting an enterprise strategy. You have a strong experience and profound knowledge in business architecture. You have an output oriented approach on how to serve as liaison across various business domains and between business and IT. You have strong communication and relationship building skills to establish and foster networks. You will be responsible to contextualise business strategy for operational needs developing artefacts such as business portfolio overviews, business process summaries, and application landscape diagrams.

You will be part of the Swiss Re wide Business Architecture chapter and will have direct contact with key colleagues both in business and IT.

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Acquire, document and share knowledge of key elements of the enterprise architecture portfolio consisting of capabilities, processes, organisations, applications, information as well as services/costs

  • Create and enforce business architecture principles and standards together with the members of Swiss Re's Business Architecture chapter

  • Enable the business by providing a clear overview of capabilities and how they link to processes, teams, applications, information and services/cost; highlighting areas of improvement, and hence facilitate decision making that is fact based and timely

  • Serve as liaison between different departments and provide a contextual and comprehensive view of the business and IT environments and its respective as well as collective challenges

 

About the team

The Group Business Architecture team is embedded within Group Enterprise Architecture and is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the Swiss Re's Digital & Tech Strategy adoption across Swiss Re.

The team owns business architecture artefacts like business portfolio overviews, application portfolio roadmaps, information flow diagrams linking to group wide business capabilities and processes. The team is connecting various business domains around these topics across Swiss Re to promote exchange among tech and data leaders to eventually ensure standardisation and costs efficiency.

 

About you

We are happy to meet you if you

  • Successfully completed a university degree in data engineering, computer science, technology management, natural science or similar

  • Gained relevant professional work experience with a solid focus on business architecture, preferably in financial services / insurance

  • Have hands-on project experience in analysis, design and implementation of information management related solutions, ideally business architecture solutions with focus on data integration and strategy implementation. A TOGAF certification would be an additional asset, but not a must

  • Are flexible and used to be driven by business demand

  • Possess solid analytical skills based on hard and soft data

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills dealing with people and establishing relationships with internal clients and partners

  • Are comfortable in working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with regular exposure to business and IT colleagues

  • Are fluent in English (both written and spoken)

  • Like to work customer centric and independently within a dynamic team

  • Have consistent track record of delivering strong results and impact, constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and take thoughtful risks in order to get things done better and faster

  • Are dedicated to the Swiss Re’s new way of working through greater collaboration and breaking down of silos using agile methodologies

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 3 100 EUR full time.
