Business Manager ECM

About the Role and Team
The Asset Management Middle Office aims to provide high quality support to all of the front office desks and business lines within Asset Management and other Group related functions. This position will provide critical support to the Environmental & Commodities Markets team (ECM as well as the NatCat team). The ECM Desk is an active business line providing weather and Energy based solutions/protection to a wide range of clients globally. Equally the parametric team are an active function providing protection products across a large scope of NatCat events from earthquakes, hurricane, Tsunami as well as other catastrophes. The candidate is expected to facilitate the execution of structured transactions, new product development, lead project initiatives, assist in regulatory reporting and ensure deal commitments are maintained through to maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactional support - Working directly with the Environmental & Commodities Markets team as well as NatCat /Parametric Team to determine, on a deal by-deal basis, the applicable booking methodology, choice of legal entity, identification of any specific regulatory or jurisdictional implications and any other issues which may impact the deal being executed in the applicable timeframe.
- Working closely with the ECM's Portfolio Managers/Traders and Quantitative Analysis team to monitor transactions performance during the trade life cycle.
- Ongoing transaction monitoring responsibilities to ensure all deal commitments as per the deal documents are fulfilled.
- Ensure full lifecycle mgmt. of deals is supported, from payments/settlements/reconciliations, Collateral mgmt. activities, Large guarantees that are required to be administered. TMT approvals for transactions as well as also any LOC support activities that are required.
- Ensure EMIR reporting is set up for specific key strategic ECM clients.
- Ensuring all new client relationships are onboarded and maintained at elevated level due to nature of regulated carriers involved.
- Act as central point of coordination for all deal related queries from PnL, Risk through to investment reporting submissions.
- Close coordination across teams to ensure accurate P&L and risk analytics reporting.
- Ensuring all new products are communicated, tested, and signed off by each support area.
- Provide insight of trading activity through reports and ad-hoc analysis of data.
- Collaborate and build relationships with our colleagues from different teams to tackle issues and provide better solutions for our group.
- Ability to closely collaborate with Technology to develop and improve our understanding and representation of underlying data.
Projects and Initiatives
- Working with all stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects new business strategies while assessing/critiquing the overall systems architecture.
- Drive changes to the existing system platform or process to meet any changes in internal or external reporting requirements.
- Represent ECM in various committees, Boards, forums and discussions with key business stakeholders e.g., Corporate Solutions, Reinsurance, Treasury etc.
- Identify areas where synergies can be achieved through closer collaboration with other trading desks and product offerings.
- Collaborate with team members to review assignments, daily tasks and project progress to recognize successes and help resolve or advance issues.
Governance and Assurance support
- Work with the AM Governance team and Business to ensure all documentation and desk related Risks and controls (Quarterly RCSA review)are up to date and signed off.
- Support the desk on any internal and/or external audits, given we operate in regulated carriers there are annual regulatory audits performed that require clear hand holding and support via the Middle Office who act as the single point of coordination, and these can last up to 3 months.
- Support identification, capture and closure of operational events and issues and drive mitigation plans with business and key stakeholders.
Coordination and Collaboration across the following Functions
- Environmental & Commodities Markets team / NatCat /Parametric Team
- IT (Various Teams, Group, FMI, ECM IT/CorSo).
- Financial Risk Management Incl. Market, Credit and key QFRM (Model Val)
- AM Governance
- Asset Management Product Control
- Finance Inv Reporting
- Asset Management Operations – All functions, Payments, settlement, Collateral, Reconciliations etc.
About You
Key Skills
- Basic Financial product knowledge across both cash/ET & derivative products.
- Knowledge of OTC and Listed products
- Takes initiative, assess, and evaluate operational framework and make recommendations to improve processes and achieve operational excellence
- Weather, Energy Derivative knowledge beneficial as well as Market knowledge.
- Front to back trade lifecycle knowledge. Experience of liaising with multiple teams (Front Office, Risk, Operations, Finance, Compliance, Legal and IT)
- Preferably experience of working with large transactions (both large transaction approval/onboarding & lifecycles)
- Strong knowledge in relation to Governance activities, risks, controls, process documentation.
- Preferable P&L attribution/analysis experience.
- Clear interpersonal skills and message delivery at different levels
- Works well independently and as part of a team, is able to collaborate well under pressure
- Strong Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 1900 and EUR 3300 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
