About the team


The Elevate incubator team has been established to bring simplicity and efficiency to our clients, brokers and colleagues through innovative use of data and technology. Customers will experience products and a customer journey that is consistent, easier to understand and reliable.

To achieve this bold goal we are building up a dedicated incubator squad - a small start-up within the company.

This new initiative has a global span, rolling out in the US and Europe first and will continue to grow in the coming years.


About the role


As Software Engineer in our incubator squad you'll combine software development, networking skills, business domain know how and apply agile architecture principles to build high-quality applications.


Your responsibilities


You work closely with the Product Owner and UX designer to understand the problems, formulate solution proposals and evaluate the implementation effort.

Together with the squad you use design thinking techniques to empathize with our customers on their journey and find creative solutions to tackle their problems.

You build secure, cloud-native apps that amaze customers by their simplicity.

With a solid focus on developing API-centric apps and knowledge of the digital ecosystem you can help integrate your solution with ease with external services.

You embrace the DevSecOps culture, automate everything and enable continuous delivery of high-quality software, delivering valuable features at a very fast pace!

What we look for


  • Good experience in agile software engineering

  • Full stack developer with a deep understanding of modern, cloud native architectures and software patterns and experienced on MS Azure's cloud offering

  • Proficient in .Net core and TypeScript

  • Good understanding of the CNCF landscape map

  • Excellent communication skills

  • You have strong analytical skills, and take on problems in a structured way, joining your own creative ideas and those of others

  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements in software development is a plus.

  • Proficient in English



The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2 500 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group. You can look forward to extra rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
