Controlling & Reporting Specialist EMEA (Hybrid)
About the Role
As a subject matter expert for the Controlling & Reporting of CorSo Swiss Re EMEA, you will play a key role in shaping our financial reporting strategy across the European, Middle Eastern, and African regions. Your expertise will contribute directly to our organization's success by ensuring accurate quarterly financial results.
In this impactful position, you will understand and apply relevant accounting principles, operational and financial processes, and financial statement requirements at all levels of reporting. You will collaborate with Swiss Re business leaders, connecting business activities to financial outcomes while applying your strategic thinking skills. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the accurate reporting of quarterly International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) financials for external reporting across the EMEA region
- Validate nominal cash flows relevant for Group IFRS production
- Review quarterly financial production results, including financial statements and IFRS disclosures for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior stakeholders
- Support the overall Group submission process throughout the reporting landscape
- Coordinate timelines for quarterly financial production
- Facilitate alignment with the Business Unit IFRS Consolidation and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams
- Build relationships with diverse stakeholders across the organization
- Provide expert reports and analysis to key stakeholders as needed
- Manage critical issue processes
- Contribute to other team initiatives as coordinated with the Head of IFRS Controlling and Reporting, EMEA
About the Team
You will join a collaborative team of 4 professionals working on IFRS production for the Corporate Solutions EMEA region. You will partner with the Head of IFRS Controlling and Reporting EMEA and engage with various stakeholders including the Corporate Solutions Business Unit CFO, Group Accounting, IT, and others from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
About You
Qualifications and Skills
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Experience in external financial reporting in an international environment (USGAAP/IFRS)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to manage details while maintaining big-picture perspective
- Effective communication skills across diverse audiences
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Preferred
- Understanding of IFRS/IFRS 17 accounting principles
- Knowledge of accounting systems (particularly SAP)
- CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification
- 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize multiple concurrent projects
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,100 and EUR 3,400 per month (for a full-time role).
