Data Analyst (Hybrid)

About the Role


The Master Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing Finance' centralized master data processes to ensure trustworthy information in financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible to analyse, coordinate and implement data and data model updates as well as improve how master data is handled within Finance. The candidate shall ensure that the data and attributes are consistent and reliable.  This requires broad understanding of the financial reporting processes and landscape to identify and contemplate the impact of data changes, especially accounting and steering attributes in the Reinsurance subledgers. In addition, this also requires solid communication and coordination skills.
The Master Data Analyst will work with the Finance and InfoTech community worldwide, making sure that Finance is providing consistent, reliable and timely information to its key stakeholders.

This is a senior position. It manages and coordinates requests from across the business which lead to additions and changes to a business code which steers financial accounting as well as cashflow splits and other financial attributes. Especially the business code defines how a transaction is posted to subledger and general ledger. The successful candidate collects requests, analyses an impact to current accounting schemes, asks for stakeholder feedback, and coordinates implementation of the solution with Finance IT. Similar approach is used for the management of several additional financial attributes. 

 

 Key responsibilities include:
•    Ensure that data and attributes used by financial reporting are consistent and reliable
•    In cooperation with Finance InfoTech and other business units, ensure that the Financial Reporting landscape delivers information to internal clients that is reliable, consistent, and timely
•    Act as a single point of contact for client queries related to selected areas of master data management
•    Independently and proactively identify and implement improvements to processes and activities
•    Triage and analyse data change requests and issues as well as drive these to resolution
•    Maintain documentation of procedures and knowledge databases
•    Lead and support training activities related to the area of expertise 
•    Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
•    Engage in wider projects and initiatives when required. 

 

Other responsibilities include:
•    Deputize other team members
•    Perform ad hoc tasks as required

 

About the team


Global Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) is the unit responsible for the accounting and reporting of accurate and consistent financial information Globally for Swiss Re for external reporting and internal analysis facilitating strategic decision-making. This includes IFRS for Group as well as statutory financial information for all Swiss Re's legal entities, including SST and Solvency II. GFO&T spearheads the transformation of Group Finance, streamlining it towards a simpler, more effective forward-looking organisation. 


About you


As a focused team player with effective data, analysis, and communication skills, you can run and improve master data processes smoothly to ensure trustworthy information to the financial reporting processes.
 
Key requirements include: 
•    University degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field, Finance or Accounting with relevant technical experience
•    Minimum of 2 years of business analysis, data analysis or accounting experience preferable in large multinational company
•    Understanding of finance processes, accounting, ideally in the insurance industry is considered plus
•    Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to assimilate complex information
•    Proficient in MS Excel, with experience in handling and manipulating large data volume Flexible and open minded - committed to a permanent learning experience
•    Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
•    Experienced user of Reporting or BI tools
•    Accurate and detail-oriented team player
•    Flexible and open minded - committed to a permanent learning experience
•    Excellent problem-solving abilities and proactive issue resolution 
•    Ability to drive initiatives and contribute to strategic projects effectively.
•    Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
•    Ability to work under pressure. 

 

Advantageous skills include:
•    Knowledge in IFRS17 and IFRS9 accounting standards 
•    Experience with databases and querying languages
•    Experience with SAP BW, S/4HANA

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,100 and EUR 3,400 per month (for a full-time role). 
The specific salary offered considers:
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
•    the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
