Data Analyst (Hybrid)

About the Role
Your focus will be on various data and analytics activities supporting actuarial reserving. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing our dashboards and apps, together with the data transformations backing them. You will produce regular checks and reports on reserving processes. You will become an insurance data expert, participate in data quality and data governance topics, and support the wider team with analyses and data requests. You will work closely with reserving actuaries and other stakeholders to ensure our products continue to deliver value. And you will be constantly challenged to improve and optimise.
About the Team
You will be part of the Actuarial Reserving Data & Analytics team of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. We are a small team across multiple locations, dedicated to providing data and analytics solutions, process optimisations, and technology and data expertise to support reserving actuaries in carrying out reserve setting, production of presentation materials, and financial subledger validation.

You have strong analytical, technology, and communication skills. You are an independent worker who proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and has the expertise and creativity to deliver the best solutions. You pay attention to detail, stay on top of timelines, and know how to prioritise your tasks. A commitment to excellence, taking responsibility for your work, and a constant drive to deepen and expand your knowledge are crucial.
Essentials
• Professional with 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
• University degree in mathematics, actuarial science, data science, physics, engineering, or another quantitative subject, or equivalent practical experience
• Proficient with R, Python, and/or SQL
• Proficient with MS Excel
• Fluent in English
Nice to Haves
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as MS Power BI or Tableau
• Experience with building web apps using R Shiny
• Experience with Apache Spark
• Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Palantir Foundry or Databricks
• Experience with cloud platforms such as MS Azure
• Knowledge of Git
• Experience in or knowledge of the re/insurance industry, in particular actuarial reserving and/or IFRS 17 accounting standard, is highly valued #LI-Hybrid
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,200 and EUR 3,700 per month (for a full-time role).

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
