We are currently investing in building strategic data management capabilities to ingest and harness key data sets across Swiss Re. We are looking to apply Generative AI, machine learning and data engineering to solve real-world problems.
We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our team and help us to build a platform to ingest data sets across Swiss Re. If you enjoy solving real-world problems with engineering and AI, this might be the perfect role for you! For example, you will:
Key responsibilities
- Work with subject-matter experts and analysts to develop automated data extraction solutions for pricing data from structured & semi-structured sources.
- Assess new and promising technologies from the GenAI world with regards to their business potential and technical maturity, particularly in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI and Agentic AI.
- Design and implement data products in collaboration with data users and other engineering teams.
- Support many other exciting projects in a collaborative environment with colleagues from Swiss Re's international offices.
About you
Nobody is perfect and meets 100% of the requirements. If you, however, meet some of the criteria below and are genuinely curious about the world of data and AI, we will be happy to meet you. To be successful in the role, you have:
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field
- 2+ years of work as a software engineer
- Experience in either Python or Typescript with a strong grasp of general software engineering patterns and practices
- Experience of building modular systems using service and API design concepts
- Experience in building data transformation and machine learning pipelines
- Good communication in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear way for non-technical audiences
If you also have the following experience and interests, it is a huge plus:
- Experience or Knowledge of Palantir Foundry
- Have previously delivered incrementally within an Agile framework
- Experience with Machine Learning and Generative AI
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,400 and EUR 4,100 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
