About the Role & Team
The Asset Management Digital and Tech Transformation unit has the mission to enable AM to become an AI powered, data centric organization. We foster a data-centric culture and ensure a state-of-the-art tech and data landscape, smartly using public cloud and SaaS solutions to provide innovative, secure and cost aware technology services.
If you join us, as a member of the ACP (Alternative Capital Partners) IT team, you will be able to participate in a variety of interesting initiatives. For example, you will:
- Further develop internal and client facing data solutions
- Provide a resilient and secure tech operating platform through continuous improvement and operational support
- Co-create advanced tech and data enabled services in global, cross functional teams
- Support many other exciting projects in a collaborative environment with colleagues from Swiss Re Asset Management's international offices
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain end-to-end data solutions, from ETL processing to reports and visualisation
- Maintain and further enhance a reliable, governed and high-quality data foundation across various technologies, from PostgreSQL to Palantir Foundry
- Maintain code quality and automated testing using CI/CD pipelines
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting of the production issues
- Ensure timely delivery of business reporting deliverables aligned to closing cycles and financial markets needs
About You
You are a hands-on data engineer with a strong track record of delivering sustainable, data driven solutions. Your passion is engineering and Data practices and fully recognize the benefits of ETL processes that ensure data is accurate, reliable, and accessible. You take ownership for reliable operations, approach new challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, and enjoy partnering with business SMEs in cross-functional teams. You care about security, quality, user experience, documentation, testing, and the bigger picture.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
• Degree in Computer Science (Master's preferred) or a comparable engineering discipline
• 5+ years' experience building and operating data solutions
• Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
• Strong knowledge of SQL and databases, preferably Postgres SQL
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with Data frameworks (Pandas, Polars, PySpark)
• Experience with Palantir Foundry, Databricks or similar
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge and work experience on automated testing (e.g. pytest) or test driven-development approach
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams
• Proficiency in English (written & verbal)
These are additional nice to haves:
• Experience on TypeScript / JavaScript
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools using Azure DevOps or equivalent platforms
• Familiarity with batch processing and application operations, monitoring, and orchestration, preferably UC4
• AI and ML engineering
• Comfortable working in agile delivery environments (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira)
Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,400] and [EUR 4,100] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
