Expert System Engineer (Cloud Solutions)

About the Team and the Role:


The EDI (Enterprise Data Integration) team delivers company-wide solutions offering core capabilities and platforms in the area of data exchange, data transformation, data integration and reporting.
In this hands-on role of a Senior Cloud Solution Engineer, you will craft and develop required functionalities and capabilities to meet clients' requirements, driving and shaping the desired target architecture in EDI.
As part of a dynamic, multifaceted and passionate agile team you will work with the latest Cloud (mostly MS Azure) and vendor technologies. If you cover both technical detail and solution design, you are the right person for us!
 
Your main responsibilities:


•    Apply your technical and consulting skills, your business knowledge, and expertise to design, develop and support scalable, secure and easily maintainable cloud services and (platform) solutions for data integration & data exchange
•    You will be involved into and driving MVPs, architecture design sessions, Cloud strategy and transformation plans and workshops, and will ensure secure implementations and operations
•    Provide shared platforms and required capabilities in Public Cloud, help business application teams to migrate their solutions onto these platforms
•    Finally, providing well-founded consultancy to clients for implementing integrated solutions based on the use of modern, standards-based EDI interfaces and APIs will round off the profile
 
About you:

•    Hands-on experience in implementing and realizing new large-scale solutions on Azure and migrating applications from on premises to the cloud, proficiency with n-tier enterprise solutions architecture
•    Expertise in Microsoft Azure technologies – IaaS, PaaS services & offerings, comprehensive knowledge of cloud security implementations, and experience with hybrid cloud architecture(s) and models
•    Programming and scripting skills in common languages (i.e., Python, Java, C++, JavaScript)
•    Broad experience with solution architecture and/or design experience in the field of cloud projects and cloud technologies
•    Excellent knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Azure DevOps / GitLab
•    Developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure Bicep or Terraform
•    Familiar with containers (Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker etc.)
•    Good understanding how to identify business needs, problems, and risks
•    Proficiency in English, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 4000 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group. You can look forward to extra rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
