Financial Accounting Associate (Hybrid)

About the Role


You will support the execution of core financial processes that connect different parts of Swiss Re’s business. Working in a structured and supportive environment, you will contribute to the lifecycle of Intra-Group Reinsurance (IGR) transactions and help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities:
•    Support quarterly financial production for Intra-Group Reinsurance transactions, following defined timelines and guidelines 
•    Assist with the set up and maintenance of IGR contracts in finance systems, ensuring data accuracy and completeness 
•    Prepare financial results and perform reconciliations and basic validations to support reporting processes
•    Execute standard accounting and reporting activities in line with established processes and internal controls 
•    Contribute to system enhancements and testing activities, including User Acceptance Testing, under guidance 
•    Collaborate with Finance teams and cross-functional functions (e.g. Risk Management, Treasury, and Audit), to support operational processes 

 

About the Team


The Intra Group Reinsurance team, established in 2018, is part of Global Finance Operations & Transformation team (GFO&T). The team manages global internal reinsurance financial processes across Swiss Re entities, including contract setup, calculation, reporting, and settlement of transactions.

About You


You are a detail oriented finance professional who enjoys working with numbers and structured processes. You are eager to learn, comfortable working in an international environment, and able to manage multiple tasks with guidance and support.  
We are looking for candidates with: 
•    Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting 
•    1–3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role 
•    Basic experience with accounting or reporting systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) 
•    Good knowledge of MS Excel 
•    Fluent English (written and spoken) 
•    Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn 
•    Ability to work collaboratively and follow established processes


Nice to have:
•    Exposure to US GAAP and/or IFRS 
•    Experience working in an international or cross functional environment 
•    Interest in developing deeper expertise in accounting or reinsurance topics


For Slovakia, the base salary range for this position is between 1,300 EUR and 2,200 EUR for a full-time role.

The specific salary offered considers:
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role
•    the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience
In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
