Full Stack Application Engineer

Join our dynamic Digital Practice Adoption team at Swiss Re, where we focus on enhancing the capabilities of our application development and engineering teams. We are committed to fostering continuous improvement and excellence through our self-assessment & continuous improvement platform and a complementary metrics dashboard. We are looking for a talented Full Stack Developer to help maintain and further develop these critical products. 

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with a passion for architecting and developing cloud-based applications. You will play a key role in overseeing and maintaining the entire application stack, ensuring our platforms are robust, scalable, and continually improving. Our aim is to see you advance to the role of Lead Developer within our dedicated development team. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Architect, develop, and maintain cloud-based applications using Vue.js, Node.js, Postgres, and Kubernetes. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. 
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. 
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. 
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation. 
• Engage in continuous learning and development to keep up with industry trends and technologies. 
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members. 

Requirements: 

• Proven experience in architecting and developing cloud-based applications. 
• Hands-on experience with Vue.js (or equivalent) for frontend development. 
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for backend development. 
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, particularly Kubernetes. 
• Experience with creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (preferably in Azure DevOps). 
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English (both spoken and written). 
• A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills. 
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage tasks independently. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Knowledge of modern DevOps practices and tools. 
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL is a plus) for database management. 
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. 
• Attention to detail and a passion for quality software. 
• Previous experience in a similar role within a technology-driven organization.

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,200] and [EUR 3,700] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, 
•    the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
