General Ledger Subject Matter Expert (Hybrid)

About the team

 

We are dedicated to delivering accurate and complete reporting data aligned with IFRS standards and Group reporting requirements. In this role, you will ensure the integrity of reported data in line with Group policies, support audits, and drive efficiency through process improvements and automation initiatives. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to maintain compliance, enhance reporting quality, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

 

About the role

 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Manage and coordinate processes related to the assigned relevant IFRS Standards (excluding IFRS 17) across all legal entities throughout the entire reporting cycle, ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficiency beyond standard closing activities.
•    Perform data validation and control checks during closing activities to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS standards and Group policies.
•    Execute and monitor internal controls, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of closing deliverables.
•    Act as a subject matter expert, able to clearly explain and guide stakeholders through assigned processes and controls.
•    Prepare and maintain documentation such as accounting memos, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and materiality assessments.
•    Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, providing timely responses to audit queries and data requests.
•    Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency and data quality.

 

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications
•    University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
•    Experience in financial reporting, internal controls, or end-to-end process execution (Big Four background is an advantage).
•    Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret policies, understand complex processes, and communicate them clearly.
•    Proactive team player who collaborates effectively and seeks continuous improvement and automation opportunities.
•    High level of energy, curiosity, and ownership — a self-driven professional with a strong “can-do” attitude.
•    Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Share-Based Payments (IFRS 2).

 

This is 1 year temporary employment contract.

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,100 and EUR 3,400 per month (for a full-time role).

 

The specific salary offered considers:
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
•    the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
 

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
