As the Head of Platform Engineering, you will have the great opportunity to join a diverse and motivated team, while managing the entire cloud infrastructure, and contributing firsthand to overcome current and future challenges.
What we look for

5+ years of engineering management experience in building, leading, and motivating platform engineering teams

Empathetic person, caring about individuals and setting growth paths for them

Experience in managing highly-available, high-traffic, and customer-facing services deployed on the cloud

Experience in building highly secure, reliable, and resilient systems

Run mission-critical services alongside product engineering teams promoting comprehensive monitoring of availability, latency, performance, and

core business metrics. Establish effective incident resolution and incremental adoption of fault-tolerant, self-healing solutions.

Great problem-solving skills

Team player first, a fast, continuous-learning individual with a passion for infrastructure and coding topics

Fluent English
What we consider a plus for this role

Experience in software engineering in any modern language (Python, Go, Rust, Java, Kotlin, C++, C# …)

Previous experience with AWS

Previous experience in a regulated industry

Our recruiting process
For this position, you can generally expect a hiring process similar to the following one (based on location and availability, the process can be slightly modified):

Qualified candidates receive feedback concerning their application from our Recruiting team.

Phone call with HR to know each other

Up to a maximum of four small (45 min each) interviews with different stakeholders, diving into technical and managerial topics.

Meet with the team: based on a dialogue with engineers about technical topics, experiences, and cultural fit.
Minimum base salary for this job is 3200 eur. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
