About the role
We are looking for a leader with a strong record of achievement to lead our QA practices reporting directly to the Chief Digital & Technology Officer Corporate Solutions. You will elevate QA practices and standards across all product teams and shape the vision of how quality supports our cloud, data, and digital platforms to enable the Corporate Solutions business innovate with speed and resilience.
You will be responsible for establishing robust testing and resiliency strategies, mentoring QA members, and reporting quality metrics and gaps to the leadership team to instil discipline on continuous improvement on quality measurements.
About the team
We are a globally distributed team developing platforms and services across the entire insurance value chain. We are set up in different product areas, each of which has designated Quality Assurance experts coming together as a chapter of practitioners. We strive to build applications that are carefully designed, thoughtfully implemented, and surpass the expectations of our users by working together with product owners.
Your responsibilities include
- Act as a neutral and trusted partner to the leadership team with regular status updates and actionable insights on our quality transformation.
- Execution of the implementation of Groupwide quality standards, tailored to the Corporate Solutions business context.
- Define the QA people strategy including growth and development.
- Monitoring and explanation of quality KPIs across multiple dimensions.
- Consistent test case management linked to critical business processes.
- Understanding quality issues impacting production and ensuring proper resolution and root-cause analysis.
- Measurable increase in automated test cases at the API layer, improving test case data variety and scenarios under test.
- Advocacy and adoption of generative AI technologies.
- Improving the collaboration between requirements engineering, application engineering and operation support of products with QA members.
- Tracking and reporting of live non-functional metrics of applications.
About you
You are an inspiring leader who combines deep technical expertise with a strategic vision for continuous improvement. You champion best practices and ensure that quality assurance processes are robust, measurable, and aligned with key business objectives. You are a practitioner at heart, able to dive into the details while also able to communicate clearly to leadership where issues are present and how to address them. Above all you are empathetic and understanding, and able to bring people over to your side to create joint movement.
You should bring the following skills and experiences
- 10+ years in technology and software delivery, with hands-on experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Exceptional leadership and people skills on technology projects including influence, and communication skills with the ability to guide technical and business stakeholders alike.
- Proven success in defining and implementing software quality assurance.
- Must have hands-on working knowledge of QA tools.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
You will be working in a hybrid setup (50:50), perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises (2-3 days per week).
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 3,200 and EUR 5,300 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements.
