Head of International Programs Operations Risk & Compliance

Are you a strategic leader with expertise in operational governance and risk management? We're seeking an exceptional professional to strengthen our International Programs Operations through robust governance frameworks, risk-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this pivotal role, you'll be the senior operational voice in governance matters, driving accountability and operational excellence across our global platform.

 

About the Role

 

As Head of International Programs Operations Risk & Compliance, you'll provide strategic leadership for governance, risk, and compliance practices across International Programs Operations. You'll ensure a transparent and well-embedded control environment that supports operational excellence, compliance by design, and sustainable business growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Governance Leadership - Own and evolve the International Programs Operations Risk & Compliance Framework, establish clear methodologies and accountabilities, and represent Operations in key governance forums.
  • Strategic Alignment - Drive engagement across underwriting, IT, finance, product, and other stakeholders to ensure coherent governance across the International Programs value chain.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight - Own the International Programs risk and compliance framework for Operations, ensuring accurate assessment, clear ownership, and effective control performance.
  • Compliance Integration - Serve as the Risk & Compliance Operations representative in prioritization discussions, ensuring compliance by design in systems and process enhancements.
  • Assurance & Reporting - Engage with Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance teams while providing clear, data-driven insights to support decision-making.

Operations Risk & Compliance is a business-enabling function dedicated to helping our teams execute processes efficiently while meeting all internal policies and external regulatory requirements. We partner closely with the business to design, implement, and oversee robust operational processes, supported by ongoing testing and remediation cycles. Our mission is to strengthen operational stability, protect the firm’s reputation, and embed a culture of strong, sustainable performance.

 

About You

 

You're a strategic thinker with exceptional stakeholder management skills and a passion for operational excellence. You thrive in complex environments, can translate governance requirements into practical operational solutions, and have a track record of building robust risk and compliance frameworks that enable rather than hinder business growth.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • 7+ years of experience in governance, risk, operations, or compliance roles
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to influence and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strong understanding of operational risk management, control frameworks, and regulatory expectations
  • Experience in global insurance or financial services, especially in complex operational or cross-border contexts
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate insights into meaningful actions

 

These are additional nice to haves:

 

  • Experience with International Programs insurance operations
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting cross-border insurance programs
  • Change management expertise and experience building frameworks from the ground up

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between 3,100 EUR and 5,100 EUR per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

 
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
