About the Role
 

As a Strategy & Operations Associate within the Internal Control Assurance & ReportingTeam, you will support the Head of ICAR Strategy & Operations with planning, scoping and reporting of assurance activities as well as participate in various control testing activities. You will have the opportunity to learn about many areas of Swiss Re, including their processes and controls. This role offers you exposure to Swiss Re's Management and an opportunity to deal with themes that have an organizational impact and drive the risk culture of Swiss Re.
 

Key Responsibilities:


•    Contribute to planning, scoping and reporting of control assurance activities
•    Maintain the intranet pages and team SharePoint site up to date
•    Perform testing procedures on internal controls over financial reporting and other areas 
•    Document your testing procedures and present findings to the relevant stakeholders
•    Engage with various stakeholders across the business representing the ICAR Team

 

About the Team


The Internal Control Assurance & Reporting (ICAR) Team is a global team of Assurance Professionals, responsible for assessing the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of Swiss Re's internal controls. We liaise closely with Operational Risk Management, Group Internal Audit, Governance teams, external Audit and Swiss Re Management. Through our controls testing and assurance activities, we identify areas of control weaknesses and contribute to an improved control framework to ensure operational rigor and effective control related behavior across the Swiss Re Group.
In our work we apply innovative techniques and use data analytics and automation within our assurance and testing processes.
The ICAR Team is part of Group Functions and Operational Risk Management, which consists of Risk Professionals with diverse backgrounds spanning different locations and competencies. 

 

About You
•    1-2 years of work experience in the financial services sector, with exposure to finance and assurance functions (e.g. audit and/or risk management) 
•    Good understanding of key business processes and controls over financial reporting value chain 
•    University degree in related field 
•    Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
•    Ability to develop and maintain team intranet pages and SharePoint site 
•    Good communicator, able to gain and maintain trust while delivering difficult messages
•    Critical thinker that sees the "big picture" (e.g. overall themes, trends, goals)
•    Strong analytical professional with problem-solving and interpersonal skills
•    Team worker, able to listen to others but also influence
•    Fluent in English, written and spoken.

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 1,300 and EUR 2,100 per month (for a full-time role). 
The specific salary offered considers:
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,

•    the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
