IT Business Analyst & Application Owner

Become part of the team that is closely involved with some the most important IT solutions and processes for Swiss Re Asset Management.

This is a dual role where you will be responsible for IT tasks related to the technical onboarding of new external fund managers. Swiss Re Asset Management has an investment framework which outsources some mandates to specialist external managers and our team is responsible for building and maintaining interfaces and data delivery. Some of these mandates can include new financial products which may require a full End to End testing process (E2E).

The second part of the role is to manage a portfolio of mainly SaaS applications to ensure they are fully compliant with our high IT security standards.


About the Role

New manager onboardings and E2E testing for new financial products:
• Work closely with the business when we onboard a new manager
• Onboardings can also include a new Clearinghouse, Custodian or data provider
• Set up the sftp connection, create internal folders, directories
• Define the interfaces, files and attributes that will be used with the new manager. Design, build and testing tasks
• Build the data contracts (Information Broker / Message broker tasks for data transfer)
• Work closely with various Swiss Re teams during the onboarding process which can include Front Office, Middle Office, Legal, Finance, Risk and operational teams like Data Operations, Trade Processing, Reconciliations and Reporting
• Introducing new financial products into Swiss Re is treated as a mini project and you will be expected to coordinate the IT architecture E2E testing. These exciting initiatives offer you the opportunity to learn new products and to develop a deep understanding of our E2E processes

 

As an Application Owner, you will be responsible for:  
• IT ownership of mostly SaaS applications. You will need to understand the purpose of these applications, the IT setup, Infrastructure, Access Roles etc.
• Work closely with various internal IT security teams to ensure your applications fulfil all security requirements (e.g. disaster recovery, MFA /SSO, IAM, re-certification etc.)
• Onboarding of new applications into our IT Landscape which includes owning the Digital Governance Framework process which is a formal set of steps to introduce new software into Swiss Re
• Complete various IT security initiatives which could include Configuration Reviews, coordinate penetration tests, IT audits


About the Team

We are a small, focused technology team, part of Group Digital & Technology (GDTO) serving the Asset Management domain within Swiss Re. The team is located in Bratislava, collaborating with business and IT teams in numerous locations worldwide including New York, London and Zurich.


About You

Your passion is IT, business analysis and it would be beneficial if you also have an interest in financial products. You have strong interpersonal and technical skills and are eager to broaden your knowledge and expertise. You are an energetic and diligent person who is interested to understand how the technology team operates within the asset management business.

Essentials:
• Bachelor or master's degree in computer science, business informatics, informatics, or economics
• 2+ years of working experience
• A proven record of strong business/ IT analysis
• Experience with IT governance, cyber security and basic understanding of Disaster Recovery procedures and penetration testing
• Eager to try out new technologies (e.g. Palantir Foundry)
• Analytical & conceptual skills to understand key business needs and design tailored solutions
• Enjoy working in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment

Nice to Have:
• Ideally you have experience with IT application ownership
• Vendor management knowledge
• DevSecOps practices knowledge, change management and release management
• Experience with Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,200 and EUR 3,700 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
