IT Business Analyst - Maternity Cover

About the Role

 

In your role you will contribute to Swiss Re's healthy and transparent risk culture where everyone engages in continuous risk accountability activities.

 

As a Senior IT Business Analyst, you work closely with software engineers on building and enhancing IT solutions which move functionalities to the new technical framework. This includes specifications, architecture decisions and testing. It requires communication with an international user community as well as wide range of other IT colleagues across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive building of new business application functions
  • Collect and translate business and technical requirements to developers including testing support
  • Contribute to architecture decisions in new technical landscape and analyze dependencies on other teams
  • Build up and share knowledge about applications and processes
  • Communicate with international user community as well as wide range of other IT colleagues across the globe
  • Help to embed our culture of continuous improvement
  • Drive implementation of new application services from specification to roll-out
  • Monitor and maintain interfaces, implement data quality checks
  • Monitor system processes, analyze errors and incidents and propose improvements
  • Support operations inclusive developing and processing quality assurance checks

About the Team

The Subledger input preparation area consists of multiple teams based in Zurich, Bratislava and Bangalore. It is a community of Business Analysts, Developers and Product owners. We are responsible for JAVA based systems and related micro-services communicating with each other to ultimately feed the SAP and other sub-ledgers with inputs for financial closing. 

About You

 Key skills and Experience

  • Five or more years of software design experience
  • Good knowledge of SQL and MSOffice
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools
  • High level of abstraction, fast understanding, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize tasks and drive objections to completion, ability to work independently as well as within a global team
  • Good communication and presentation skills across Finance and IT, basic understanding of accounting principles and the insurance business
  • Previous experience with Python and Microsoft Azure DevOps tech stack is a plus

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,100] and [EUR 3,400] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

 

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
