Java Application Engineer (Hybrid)

About the Role
As our Java Application Engineer, you'll develop and maintain business applications using Java and Spring Boot. You'll work alongside experienced team members to implement features, improve existing systems, and contribute to solutions that serve both our internal teams and external users.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business applications and integration solutions based on technical specifications
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards
- Collaborate with senior engineers to understand technology stacks and improve your technical expertise
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues by applying your knowledge and working with the team
- Learn and apply new technologies and frameworks to enhance our applications
About the Team
Our team develops, extends and maintains business applications. Both business user group and respective solutions range from very tailored and specialized to large applications for hundreds of users. The content covers the use case for data capture, integration, transformation to BPM solutions. We closely collaborate with other teams around the globe.
About You
You're a detail-oriented developer who enjoys solving technical challenges and learning from more experienced team members. You take pride in writing clean, well-tested code and are eager to expand your skills across different technologies. You work well in collaborative environments and are committed to growing your expertise while contributing to meaningful projects.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Proven experience developing software using Java and Spring framework
- Familiarity REST API concepts
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Familiarity with containerization concepts (Docker) and CI/CD basics
- Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,700] and [EUR 4,500] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
