About the Team
Our team is at the forefront of providing solutions for underwriters and analytics for Reinsurance. We build apps and analytical products that focus on a wide range of topics around Contract Wordings.
Joining us, you will learn the technologies that are used in modern apps and data solutions with a focus on cloud technologies and distributed systems, in a collaborative environment with colleagues from Swiss Re's international offices.
About the role
As a backend developer, you will collaborate in a team of around 15 developers, implementing new user stories, but also helping to maintain running applications. You will be part of a team catering for apps for our core contract processes, working side-by-side with our business engineers, data engineers and other technology professionals. You will be fully engaged in stories preparation across various technologies, namely Java and Azure.
In your role you are responsible for:
· Participating in story preparation & implementation
· Development of new applications and extending existing together with the team
· Maintenance of existing applications
· Design backend services to support modern and responsive UI/UX frontends
· Monitoring applications
· Staying on top of emerging trends using up to date technologies for development and testing
About you
Must have:
· Proven experience with Java and Java Spring Boot microservice development
· Proven experience with testing of Java Spring applications
· Proven experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
· Focusing on software quality proven by tools
· Experience working in a team contributing to the full development lifecycle
· Enjoy teamwork with the ability to work responsibly, self-reliant, and result-oriented
· Willingness to learn new things and adapt fast for change
· Able to dig deep into problems and investigate issues
Nice to have:
· Experience with Spring Webflux, the reactive-stack web framework
· In-depth knowledge of the Azure cloud platform
· Experienced developing distributed systems hosted in public clouds on Kubernetes

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,700] and [EUR 4,500] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
