About the Role

This role offers a rare opportunity to combine your love for numbers with project work and provides great chance to improve your communication and business interaction skills.


You will be primarily working with our Senior Accountant responsible for Real Estate accounting and partial reporting related to our Swiss portfolio, however also supporting the entire Real Estate team with relevant requests. Your role will also include provision of information to other areas of Swiss Re Group for tax and regulatory purposes. Additionally, you will also assist with policy setting, process improvement, identification and implementation.


What does the role offer?


Accounting tasks:

In your role you will support/assist with the following tasks:

  • Accounting for real estate investments and own used properties / offices

  • Monthly and quarterly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations

  • Accounting of acquisitions/sales/transfers of properties

  • Reconciliation of construction projects

  • Compilation of depreciation analysis for statutory accounting (compilation, discussion with Tax, Finance and eventually PWC)

  • Compilation of file for cantonal tax filing

  • Compilation of analysis of allocations-/withdrawals of refurbishment fund (compilation, discussion with Tax)

  • Compilation of reports (annual real estate report, property insurance values, acquisitions/sales, appraisal overview)

  • Support of external & internal audit (data delivery, explanation of business cases)

  • Support on preparation of quarterly VAT-filings

  • Support of tax in case of audits

  • Performing reconciliation of intercompany balances

  • Booking of rents of own used properties (debit position / billing)

  • Other key projects


Project tasks:

  • Assisting and supporting on assigned projects primarily focusing on globalization, standardization and automation of the processes and target operating model

  • Having an open mind to new ideas, plan B's, suggestions to overcome difficulties as well as areas for improvements


About the Team


In 2019, our centralized accounting team was formed in Bratislava to fulfill multi-valuation accounting processes and standardized processing. Our team is responsible for real estate accounting activities for most of Swiss Re's worldwide real estate portfolio represented by investment properties held to generate rental income.


We are also involved in number of projects with aim to achieve a target architecture that incorporates all real estates into a single system in the future.

Our team is rather small, enabling close and informal cooperation fostering trust among team members, with family-like atmosphere.


About You


  • You have an university degree in the area of finance, accounting, economics

  • You possess relevant experience as a Financial accountant or similar

  • You bringing experience in Real Estate accounting is an advantage

  • You have great social and communication skills

  • Experience in SAP is beneficial

  • Fluent English written and spoken

  • Adherence to deadlines to work on own initiative is your strength

  • Flexible working attitude, being able to easily adapt to changing environment and priorities

  • Advanced level on Microsoft Office (Excel – Pivot Tables, Word and PowerPoint)

Minimum base salary for this job is from 1100 EUR gross/month/full time. Our offer to you may be higher based on your skills and experience and will include additional rewards and benefits. *
