Junior Data Analytics Engineer

AboutTheRole 

In your role as an Analytics Engineer in Data & Analytics Re, you collaborate with data engineers, business analysts and product owners to build impactful products tackling a variety of business challenges, such as improving our portfolio strategy, costing accuracy and financial performance. 

Your key responsibilities are: 

  • Design and implement end-to-end analytics solutions using Palantir Foundry, including: 
    • Scalable data transformation pipelines in PySpark 
    • Web applications with Workshop (low-code) and TypeScript 
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications in close collaboration with Product Owners and Architects. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve functional and technical data issues for stakeholders. 
  • Actively contribute to the evaluation and prototyping of new analytics platform capabilities. 
  • Collaborate across a global, cross-functional team to deliver robust and high-impact data products. 

 

To support you in growing into this position requiring road skills, you will be paired up with a mentor that shows you the ins and outs of the role for the first 6-12 months. Additionally, we will support you with a structured learning offering covering technical as well as business aspects. 

About You 

  • University degree or equivalent experience with a quantitative background, we welcome graduates as well as people with first experience in a data-related field! Computer science degree is a plus. 
  • Previous experience with coding / software engineering during studies or in a professional context. Experience in building applications and/or data visualizations is a plus as is Agile experience. 
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts and SQL. Working with data pipelines, experience with (Py)Spark is a plus. 
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry is a plus. 
  • Domain knowledge in (Re)Insurance is a plus. 
  • Interest to analyze data within the business landscape while applying conceptual and problem-solving skills. You enjoy dealing with colleagues in business functions! 
  • And most importantly, you are a people person that loves collaborating with others to find excellent solutions to hard business problems! 

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 1,600] and [EUR 2,600] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
