Junior Finance Accountant (Student Job - Temporary)

Join our Intra-Group Retrocession (IGR) team and gain hands-on exposure to accounting and financial processes while supporting key internal activities. In this role, you will closely collaborate with experienced colleagues, contribute to ongoing financial operations, and develop a strong foundation in finance and reinsurance.
About the Role
You will support financial processes that connect different parts of Swiss Re’s business. Working in a structured and supportive environment, you will contribute to recurring activities related to Intra-Group Reinsurance (IGR) transactions and gain exposure to accounting processes, systems, and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support preparation of financial data related to Intra-Group Reinsurance transactions in line with defined timelines
- Assist with accounting and reporting activities following established processes and guidelines
- Perform reconciliations and data checks to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Support the maintenance of financial data and documentation in relevant systems
- Contribute to administrative and operational tasks related to financial processes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth execution of daily activities
About the Team
The Intra‑Group Reinsurance (IGR) team, established in 2018, is part of Global Finance Operations & Transformation team (GFO&T). The team manages global internal reinsurance financial processes across Swiss Re entities, including contract setup, calculation, reporting, and settlement.

About You
- You are a motivated and detail‑oriented individual who is eager to gain experience in finance, You enjoy working with data and structured processes and are keen to learn in a dynamic, international environment.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Ongoing university studies or completed Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Good knowledge of MS Excel
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow established processes and collaborate with a team
- Availability to work ~ 80 hours per month with long term perspective
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in Finance or administration
- Exposure to accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
For Slovakia the base salary for this position is 7 EUR / gross / hour.
