Junior Full-Stack Developer

About the Role

 

As a Junior Full-Stack Developer, you'll collaborate with experienced professionals to design, develop, and maintain applications that drive our business forward. You'll have the chance to work across the entire development stack while learning and growing in a supportive environment that values fresh perspectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern front-end frameworks (Angular / React)
  • Collaborate with senior developers to implement back-end functionality and APIs (.Net, C#)
  • Participate in code reviews and implement feedback to improve code quality
  • Learn and apply best practices in software development and cloud architecture
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance
  • Contribute to technical documentation for applications and features
  • Support the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies

 

About the Team

 

The Application Development Services team is responsible for 100+ applications serving multiple domains of the company - from Reinsurance to Finance or HR using agile methodologies. Applications are mostly based on Microsoft tech stack deployed to Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Our team consists of 30+ professionals based in Bratislava, Zurich, Munich and India.

 

About You

 

You're a motivated developer at the beginning of your career, eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. You have a solid foundation in programming concepts and are excited about working with both front-end and back-end technologies. You approach problems with curiosity and persistence, and you're comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance when needed.

 

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Knowledge of at least one modern programming language (C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.)
  • Understanding of web development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Basic knowledge of databases and SQL
  • Willingness to learn Microsoft technology stack and cloud services
  • Experience with AI prompting and understanding how to use it effectively
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git)

 

These are additional nice to haves:

 

  • Experience with .NET framework or .NET Core
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React or Angular
  • Understanding of Azure cloud services
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Interest in AI and machine learning technologies

 

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week

This position is suitable also for a fresh graduate.

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 1,800 and EUR 2,900 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.​
