Junior Software Engineer (Student job)

iptiQ L&H EMEA is looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn student or intern to join our team as a Junior Software Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about software development, DevOps, test automation, and/or data engineering. No prior experience is required as you will receive all the necessary support, guidance, and mentoring from our team to quickly become hands-on and grow in your professional skills.

Our Company & Platform:

At iptiQ, we have built a cloud-native SaaS solution to provide a digital end-to-end platform for selling and managing life and health insurance products. Our backend is developed in Java and SpringBoot, while our UIs are written in React JS. We use AWS as our cloud platform, Kubernetes for backend deployment, and SQL and No-SQL databases. Our backend relies on an event-driven architecture, exchanging messages through Apache Kafka. GitLab is our code repository and CI/CD automation tool, with Jira and Confluence for planning and documentation, and TestRail for quality management.

Role:

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Writing new and extending existing shared libraries used by other engineering teams
• Improving our fully automated CI/CD pipeline
• Reviewing and authoring test cases
• Writing automated end-to-end regression tests
• Developing simple real-time stream processing tasks
• Creating documentation to support and accelerate the onboarding of new engineers

Your specific focus will depend on your preferences and abilities, and you will always receive the necessary support from our team to help you grow.

Team:

Our small, international team is responsible for creating and maintaining the data lake, writing automated regression tests, and supporting other engineering teams with DevOps services and shared libraries for our Tangram Platform. We work in an agile setup using two-week scrums and prioritize a strong team dynamic.

Student Qualifications:

• Interest in software development, DevOps, test automation, and/or data engineering
• Eagerness to learn new things and apply them in practice right away
• Exposure to at least one popular programming language (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, or C#)
• "Can do" mentality and problem-solving skills
• Desire to grow in both hard and soft skills
