Lease Contract Manager

Join Swiss Re's newly established central Lease Management team within Corporate Real Estate & Services (CRES) and play a key role in managing Swiss Re’s global lease portfolio across multiple regions and locations, ensuring accurate contract interpretation, end-to-end lifecycle ownership, and alignment with commercial, legal, and financial requirements.

 

About the Role


This role sits at the intersection of real estate, contract management, data governance, and financial reporting. It offers the opportunity to shape a globally consistent lease data environment, work closely with senior stakeholders across regions and functions, and contribute directly to audit-ready reporting, portfolio transparency, and informed decision-making throughout the entire lease lifecycle.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

As Lease Contract & Data Manager, you will oversee lease and sublease contracts after signature, ensuring contractual terms are accurately interpreted, converted into structured lease data, and maintained throughout the lease lifecycle to support operations, accounting, and reporting. Your task portfolio will include:

 

Contract interpretation & data abstraction: 

 

  • Review lease contracts, amendments, annexes, side arrangements, and other related supporting documentation
  • Interpret contractual terms and obligations
  • Translate contract information into structured, system-ready Real Estate and IFRS 16-relevant lease data, including key terms, dates, payment obligations, and option clauses

 

Lease data management:

 

  • Own, monitor, and maintain lease data throughout the entire contract lifecycle
  • Initiate and reflect updates resulting from renewals, amendments, terminations, rent reviews, and/or indexation adjustments
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
  • Enable IFRS 16 reporting through high-quality data submission to Finance 

 

Data quality and controls:

 

  • Execute and document risk controls, including performing independent four-eyes reviews, in line with governance and reporting requirements
  • Resolve identified discrepancies and data quality issues
  • Ensure compliance with data standards and audit readiness

 

Stakeholder collaboration:

 

  • Liaise with contract owners, regional stakeholders, Finance, Legal, and Data Administrators to ensure aligned interpretation and high-quality data outcomes
  • Clarify contract ambiguities and support interpretation decisions
  • Act as a key partner to Global Portfolio Managers, CRES Regional Heads and regional/local teams, providing transparency on lease data and supporting fact-based decision-making (e.g. portfolio insights, contractual implications, risks, etc.)

 

Documentation and auditability:

 

  • Maintain complete contract documentation
  • Ensure traceability between contract, extracted data and reporting outputs
  • Support internal and external audits as well as control reviews by providing complete, traceable, and well-documented evidence

 

Process improvement & governance:

 

  • Contribute to continuously improve the end-to-end lease data management process
  • Strong focus on capability building, governance, and process excellence

 

About the Team

 

You will be part of a newly created central Lease Management team responsible for end-to-end lease management after contract signature.


We work closely with central, regional, and local teams, who lead business case development, negotiation, and contract setup. Once the contract is signed, we assume responsibility for lease data, ensuring consistency, timely updates, effective controls, and high data quality throughout the lease lifecycle. 


As a central competence center, we align local delivery with global standards, Finance requirements, and governance.

 

About You

 

You are an experienced lease professional who thrives in complex, global environments. You bring strong expertise in cross-regional lease contracts, execute with confidence, and build trust across a wide range of stakeholders. Pragmatic and hands-on, you help Swiss Re elevate lease management to the next level.

 

Experience:

 

  • At least 10+ years of experience in real estate and lease contract management
  • Proven track record in international real estate environments
  • Strong practical expertise in interpreting contracts, abstracting lease information, and managing structured lease data
  • High familiarity with global or matrix-based organizations
  • Solid understanding of IFRS 16 is required

 

Skills:

 

  • Academic degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate Management or a related field
  • Deep expertise in lease contracts and commercial terms
  • Strong data governance and quality mindset
  • Experience with lease systems (e.g., Planon) and a strong command of structured system data
  • Robust understanding of risk management and controls, as well as audit requirements
  • High attention to detail and structured working style

  • Analytical, precise, and solution-oriented
  • Strong communicator able to engage and advise senior stakeholders across functions/regions
  • Interest in applying AI-enabled tools to improve data quality, process efficiency, and analytical insight

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 3,200 and EUR 5,300 per month (for a fulltime role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience. 

 

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
