Linux Cloud Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Linux Cloud Engineer in order to improve our ability to deliver reliable, cost-effective and modern solutions in private and public cloud environments (e.g. Swisscom Cloud, MS Azure).

We need a specialist for: engineering our Linux cloud service and cloud infrastructuredrive process automation to next level (Azure DevOps) and look after our management system (Puppet, SUSE, RHEL, Ubuntu) with a good understanding of computer and network security (LDAP, Kerberos).

You will be responsible to

  • design and automate the build of Linux blueprints based on Swiss Re IT governance
  • design, plan, implement, and enhance managed infrastructure services (LDAP, Kerberos, Puppet, CMDB)
  • provide consultancy to customers and our operation team (2nd level support)

 

About the Team

Our team provides IT services to internal customers within Swiss Re. The GTS Infrastructure team consists of software developers, systems and information engineers. We provide high quality infrastructure services and ensure smooth operation of critical platforms and business solutions. We work in multi-functional, agile teams on delivering IT solutions in close collaboration with customers and platform owners.

 

About You

  • 4+ years' proven experience of Linux system engineering (SLES, Ubuntu, RHEL)
  • 2+ years' experience in software development (e.g. Ruby, Phyton and C++ is nice to have)
  • Excellent understanding of general technical concepts like LDAP, Kerberos, DNS, DHCP, networking
  • Excellent knowledge of automation, configuration and infrastructure management (preferably Puppet)
  • Good knowledge of concepts, engineering, implementation, usage and operations; able to approach topics from a multidisciplinary view

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 3,300] and [EUR 5,500] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
