About the Role

As our MDM API/Azure Engineer, you'll be at the intersection of cloud technology and enterprise data management. You'll architect, build, and maintain API solutions that ensure data consistency, accessibility, and security across our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Java-based APIs for master data distribution
• Implement and optimize RESTful APIs using Spring Boot to facilitate seamless data integration
• Utilize Hibernate for ORM and manage complex database interactions with high performance
• Deploy and manage applications on Azure Cloud, leveraging Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform for consistent environments
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack
• Ensure adherence to best practices for security, performance, and scalability

About the Team

We are a dynamic, globally distributed team of analysts and engineers driving the MDM function at Swiss Re. Our expertise spans the entire software development lifecycle, from business analysis and solution design to platform management for nearly 750 master data and reference data sets. As the central hub for all MDM topics, we serve as the primary point of contact for customers, business partners, and enterprise architects, ensuring data consistency and integrity across the organization.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong proficiency in Java Core, Spring Framework (Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Security), and Hibernate
• Experience with SQL databases, particularly Azure SQL, including query analysis and optimization
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform and Azure DevOps
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure automation using Terraform
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
• Proficiency with Git version control and Maven build tools

These are additional nice to haves:

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with data integration patterns and technologies

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,400] and [EUR 4,100] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
• the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
