Operational Performance Improvement Lead
Are you energised by solving complex operational challenges and turning insight into lasting improvement? If you thrive on analytical thinking, hands-on delivery and making a real difference across a global business — read on.
About the Role
As Operational Performance Improvement Lead, you will take ownership of L&H Re's most important cross-functional operational performance challenges — the ones that span functions and organisational boundaries and cannot be resolved through normal business ownership alone.
You will establish the fact base, identify root causes, align stakeholders and drive implementation through to measurable, sustainable improvement — then hand back clear ownership so results hold long after you move on.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead improvement interventions: Take ownership of selected priority interventions, from diagnosis through to delivery and embedded change.
- Solve cross-functional problems: Work across organisational boundaries to resolve systemic performance issues, clarify accountabilities and resolve root causes across process, data, governance and technology.
- Design sustainable solutions: Translate findings into pragmatic improvements to ways of working, operating models, controls or data — and establish clear ongoing ownership.
- Measure and demonstrate impact: Define success criteria upfront, track outcomes and ensure improvements are embedded and self-sustaining.
- Shape the improvement portfolio: Help prioritise interventions, identify recurring themes and provide clear visibility of progress and blockers to leadership.
About the Team
Data & Operational Excellence drives end-to-end operational effectiveness across L&H Re. The team connects three areas — Operational Architecture, Operational Analytics & Intelligence, and Operational Performance Improvement — creating a continuous link between understanding how L&H operates, identifying where performance can improve, and making that improvement stick.
This role sits within Operational Performance Improvement, working alongside Enablement Leads who support Market Units on an ongoing basis.
About You
You are an experienced improvement or transformation professional who brings structure to ambiguity, combines analytical rigour with pragmatic delivery, and influences across organisational boundaries without relying on formal authority. You are focused on sustainable outcomes — not just completing activities.
We Are Looking for Candidates Who Meet These Requirements:
- Change delivery: Proven ability to drive complex, cross-functional interventions through to measurable and lasting results.
- Data & analysis: Strong ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to build a fact base, identify performance drivers and measure impact.
- Problem solving: Ability to structure ambiguous problems, identify root causes and translate findings into clear, executable actions.
These Are Additional Nice to Haves:
- Experience in operational improvement, transformation or business consulting with a track record of delivering measurable change.
- Understanding of insurance or reinsurance operations, ideally Life & Health Reinsurance.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a global organisation.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or other structured improvement methodologies.
- Experience with data-, technology- or AI-enabled operational improvements.
- Experience with Client Data Management or the L&H treaty lifecycle.
