Procurement Specialist

About the Role


You as a Procurement Specialist (PS) will help to bring compliant procurement services to internal customers in EMEA region primarily, mainly in area of Professional Services & HR Services (PS&HR) partially for Property and Business Services (P&BS). You will support a variety of initiatives to reduce costs and support procurement processes that improve the quality of goods and services provided to internal customers by third parties and work to ensure that all vendors serving Swiss Re help the organization meet its business goals.


Responsibilities of the Category Procurement team include:
•    We handle/support commercial negotiations for assigned business cases.
•    We manage the contract process, including negotiating and reviewing of contract clauses, and initiate legal reviews and due diligence where needed.
•    We lead comprehensive competitive RFx process using internal eSourcing platform and support internal customers in supplier evaluation and decision-making process in a timely manner.
•    We manage suppliers within supported categories and sub-categories, e.g. recruiting, consulting, contractors, learning and development, employee benefits, international assignees, external audit, financial services, business process outsourcing, travel&events, marketing and branding, memberships and subscriptions etc. 
•    We manage vendor relationships, ensuring effective communication, performance evaluation, and development; we are  also responsible for vendor onboarding approvals and initiating necessary due diligence.
•    We review and approve purchase orders in internal systems ensuring that accurate contract and contract conditions are in place.
•    We cooperate with the Category Managers in developing the demand forecast and sourcing strategies for the respective procurement category or assigned purchase case.

 

About the Team


You will be part of the Category Procurement Team based in Bratislava, a unit within Group Finance. Procurement is a global Team spread across the globe. We have access to the global Procurement Network and exposure to global, regional and local Business partners. We collaborate with Category and other Procurement colleagues from different sub-departments and regions in area of PS&HR Services and P&B Services.

 

About You


•    Educational Background: A bachelor’s or master´s degree preferably in economics or business administration.
•    Experience: At least 3-4 years of experience in procurement of Professional services (PS) & HR services, and/or in Property & Business services in a global organization with multi-million Euro contracts.
•    Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiations skills with proven track of delivering significant cost savings and service improvements in assigned purchase cases.
•    Analytical skills: Detailed-oriented, analytical and process oriented person.
•    Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of PS&HR and PBS area, key market trends, commercial drivers, and cost levers in mentioned categories.
•    Vendor Management: Experienced in managing vendor relationships, annual performance assessments, and vendor onboardings.
•    Contract Management: Experience in negotiating commercials and contract clauses with global/local (EMEA) vendors.
•    Procurement Process: Hands-on experience with the procure-to-pay process. 
•    Business Partner Management: Excellent skills in managing business partner relationships and the ability build, maintain and grow relationships in a virtual environment.
•    Proactivity and Problem-Solving: Naturally proactive, a problem solver, able to navigate ambiguity, and passionate about customer outcomes. 
•    Language Skills: Proficient in verbal and written English; knowledge of other languages, especially German, is desirable.

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 1,900 and EUR 3,200 per month (for a full-time role). 
The specific salary offered considers:
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
•    the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
