Product & Delivery Director MDM

About the Role:

 

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Master Data Management (MDM) to lead our group-wide master data management strategy, product and team. As a key member of the Data Foundation leadership team, you will drive the enterprise-wide MDM initiatives collaborating with experts and leaders across all business units and Group Functions. This is a high-impact role for an experienced leader with deep expertise in master data management and other data management fields such as data governance, data integration and data quality.

 

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of leading enterprise MDM programs, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry, and is well-versed in managing multi-tenant MDM environments.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Lead and shape the enterprise Master Data Management strategy across the group, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and data initiatives.
  • Oversee the operations and management of the TIBCO EBX platform, ensuring optimal configuration for multi-tenant usage across multiple business units.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define and maintain master data domains (e.g., customer, product, vendor, employee).
  • Develop and lead a global team of MDM professionals, fostering a culture of data excellence, impact focus and accountability.
  • Define and monitor data quality KPIs and metrics for master data, and lead remediation efforts where necessary.
  • Serve as the group-wide subject matter expert on master data management
  • Lead change management initiatives to embed MDM in business processes and organizational culture.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in MDM, and provide thought leadership to evolve the MDM landscape

 

About the Team:

 

You will be joining a dynamic team of data experts and enthusiasts who are passionate about maximizing the impact of data for Swiss Re and its partners. The Group Data Services and Data Foundations team plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's data and analytics landscape by managing and evolving business-critical data solutions and platforms.

 

We drive and support core capabilities, including:

  • Group-wide Master Data Management – ensuring consistent, accurate, and governed master data across the enterprise
  • Data Exchange Solutions – facilitating secure and scalable data sharing internally and externally
  • Data Integration Platforms – including the group-wide data warehouse and enabling the vision of a federated data mesh architecture on Swiss Re's strategic big data platform
  • IT Data Integration & Analytics Products – powering data-driven decision-making and operational excellence through analytics insights and data products

About you:

 

Besides being a technology enthusiast and an experienced leader that drives ideas to successfully delivered solutions, you bring the following experience

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on MDM and associated topics such as data governance or data integration
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale MDM programs in complex, global organizations.
  • Proven experience with TIBCO EBX or equivalent MDM platforms.
  • Solid understanding of multi-tenant MDM architecture and data integration patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of data quality management, data lineage, metadata management, and data stewardship practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive execution and deliver tangible business value.
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is an advantage.

 

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 5,200] and [EUR 8,700] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, 
•    the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
