Product Owner SSE Security Service Edge

As Product Owner SSE, you will evolve our infrastructure in securing and improving Swiss Re's public network exposure on which Swiss Re relies centrally.

 

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer/Product Owner with deep expertise in Zscaler solutions (ZIA/ZPA) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of secure access architecture. The role focuses on replacing legacy VPN and proxy services, while also integrating Zscaler into the broader enterprise network, security, and identity landscape. The ideal candidate will bridge technical leadership and product ownership—ensuring strategic alignment between technical teams, stakeholders, and business objectives.

 

About the team

Edge & Connectivity Services is a newly formed area consisting of three teams (Cloudflare, Gateway Services and Connectivity Services) that address the challenges of hosting Swiss Re's public endpoints and the connectivity within the Swiss Re landscape. The teams deal with securing the edge, hosting gateways for APIs as well as data integration and are centrally responsible for connectivity across the Swiss Re backbone and for general addressability. This includes internal endpoints in both the private and the public clouds.

 

Your main responsibilities are to:

 

  • Act as Product Owner for Zscaler solutions in the enterprise, managing the backlog, roadmap, and stakeholder communications.
  • Gather requirements, prioritize use cases, and align with security, compliance, and end-user experience goals.
  • Define KPIs and drive continuous service improvements in performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Coordinate with vendors, third-party service providers, and internal teams to drive solution enhancements.
  • Lead the deployment, and configuration of SSE solution, integrating SSE with the existing infrastructure in Swiss Re,
  • Work closely with managed service providers to ensure SLAs are met and issues are resolved promptly.
  • Interact with the outsourcing partner(s) to ensure that they develop, validate, and support the solutions required by Swiss Re and meet Swiss Re security, compliance and networking standards)
  • Lead troubleshooting and incident response for Zscaler-related issues, including policy anomalies, performance degradations, and access failures.
  • Conduct regular reviews of Zscaler logs, dashboards, and analytics to ensure security and performance standards are met.
  • Support change management and documentation, including runbooks, support procedures, and policy documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior network engineers and operations team members

 

About you

As Product Owner SSE, you are an experienced professional with a hands-on mentality and operational skills. In particular, you possess:

 

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering, with at least 3 years in Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA) deployments and management.
  • Broad technical background and understanding of an enterprise network and its challenges in global deployment.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), IPsec, GRE tunnels, and SSL inspection.
  • Proven experience in VPN/proxy migration projects, including Zero Trust network architecture.
  • Awareness of cyber threats and the importance of governed Internet breakouts/proxies
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native networking, identity-based access, and Zero Trust Security principles.
  • Experience integrating with Azure AD, Okta, ServiceNow, and other enterprise security platforms.
  • Ability to nurture a positive Engineering culture, client-oriented behaviour and can-do attitude
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 3,800] and [EUR 6,300] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
