Project Manager - Cloud Transformation

About the Team

We are looking for you as our new Project Manager to join our highly skilled global Public Cloud team. The team focuses on developing and operating state of the art cloud platform and services. These services offer cost effective, secure, and standardized environment to host business applications to accelerate the adoption of cloud technology. We are a dynamic team enabling and operating the Public Cloud technology for the whole organization, and we are working closely with many tech colleagues and projects which allows us to actively leverage the cloud technology to drive positive business outcome.

 

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and drive strategic cloud initiatives, enabling the company to leverage cutting-edge technologies for enhanced scalability, efficiency, and resilience. In this role you will be the "glue" that keep all the initiatives running in the Public Cloud Transformation team together. The responsibility of the role spans from managing strategic projects to day-to-day operations involving cross team collaboration to ensure timely deliveries of key objectives.

Project Execution and Operational Governance:

  • Orchestrating and managing day-to-day operational topics to drive cloud transformation initiatives within the department and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business needs.
  • Deliver on Swiss Re’s Cloud Strategy by independently curating the content for IT Management meetings
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive project roadmaps, managing dependencies, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain robust project governance, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget and managing risks, dependencies, and issues to maintain program momentum.
  • Support in identifying and addressing risks, incidents and issues; drive resolution activity
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and data privacy requirements.
  • Build and maintain an oversight of all IT processes (including availability reports, service level agreements, disaster recovery plans, critical vendor arrangements)

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a correct prioritization and smooth delivery of the initiatives
  • Act as a bridge between business and technology teams, translating complex requirements into actionable project deliverables.
  • Encourage collaboration and knowledge-sharing across teams and regions.
  • Champion internal values of operational excellence, seeking opportunities for common approaches and cross-business units/cross-functional collaboration where feasible
  • Contribute to and manage all communication regarding technical direction and initiatives for the team. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing program performance and integrating feedback for optimization.
  • Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and their applications in the insurance and reinsurance sectors.

About you

Education and Experience:

  • A University degree in Business Administration/Operations of Information Technology or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in program/project management, with at least 4 years in managing large scale transformation projects.
  • Technology proficiency with demonstrable IT experience preferably within Consulting and/or Financial Services
  • Familiarity with technology standards of good practice and delivery of IT transformation and/or regulatory risk projects is a plus

Technical Skills:

  • Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native technologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, Solvency II) impacting cloud implementations in the insurance industry.
  • Experience working with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, MS Office suite is necessary

Certifications (Preferred):

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification.
  • Any foundational Cloud certifications are beneficial but not a must

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,100] and [EUR 3,400] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
