As a Requirements Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our underwriting technology. You will act as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and our engineering teams, ensuring that every feature, fix, and capability we build is grounded in clear, well-defined requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Elicit and document business and functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and collaborative sessions with stakeholders
- Translate complex business needs into clear, concise, and testable user stories, use cases, and functional specifications
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog in close collaboration with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared understanding throughout the development lifecycle
- Analyse and evaluate existing system functionality and processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Support production issues by investigating root causes, defining remediation requirements, and coordinating resolution efforts with the engineering team
- Validate and verify that delivered solutions meet the agreed requirements through review and acceptance testing
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, decisions, and system changes to ensure traceability and knowledge continuity
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of requirements engineering practices, tools, and processes within the team

The Underwriting Platform team is responsible for building and maintaining our core underwriting workbench application — a critical tool that empowers underwriters to do their best work. The team strikes a unique balance between ensuring rock-solid production stability and actively driving innovation by delivering exciting new capabilities. We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- 6+ years of experience as a Requirements Engineer or Business Systems Analyst, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality requirements in a technology-driven environment
- Requirements elicitation and documentation: Proven experience gathering, analysing, and documenting business and functional requirements in a structured and traceable manner
- Agile methodologies: Solid understanding and hands-on experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks, including backlog management and sprint planning
- Stakeholder management: Demonstrated ability to engage and align diverse stakeholder groups, facilitating productive discussions and managing competing priorities effectively
- API testing and exploration: Comfortable running and testing APIs using tools such as Bruno or Postman, with the ability to interpret responses and identify issues or inconsistencies
- JSON comprehension: Ability to read and understand JSON files, enabling effective collaboration with developers and meaningful participation in technical discussions
- Basic SQL proficiency: Ability to write and run basic SQL queries to retrieve, validate, and analyse data in support of requirements investigation and testing activities
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry, particularly in underwriting or related domains
- Familiarity with BPMN or UML for process and system modelling
- Exposure to production support environments and experience working with incident management processes
- Knowledge of software testing principles and experience supporting UAT activities
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar project and documentation platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to break down complex scenarios into manageable components
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,100 and EUR 3,400 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
