Sales & Origination Senior Product Owner
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Business Product Owner with a strategic mindset and deep understanding of the reinsurance value chain to lead the development, optimization, and vision for our Sales & Origination tools with a focus on our CRM tool. This role is critical in modernizing how our reinsurance sales teams engage with brokers, cedents, and internal stakeholders — streamlining origination processes and enabling data-driven decision-making.
In addition to product leadership, this role involves reviewing and refining sales processes, proactively identifying new opportunities, and serving as a deputy to the Business Product Area Lead, with visibility across senior commercial and technical stakeholders.
As the Sales & Origination Senior Product Owner you will:
Product Ownership & Strategic Development
• Own and manage the roadmap for Sales & Origination platforms tailored to reinsurance workflows, including client and broker engagement and deal origination.
• Translate commercial, underwriting, and operations needs into actionable product backlog items.
• Align tooling and process enhancements with the reinsurance sales cycle and treaty/facultative business models.
• Collaborate closely with tech, data, underwriting, and front-office teams to ensure end-to-end delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions.
Sales Process Review & Optimization
• Analyze and map current origination and sales processes, identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies across regions and business units.
• Drive the standardization and improvement of sales processes across the global reinsurance business.
• Integrate tool enhancements with commercial strategy, pipeline management, and broker management practices.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Serve as a senior partner to internal stakeholders including Commercial Leads, Underwriters, Broker Managers, IT, and Operations.
• Act as a deputy to the Business Product Area Lead — stepping in to lead key forums, strategy sessions, and interdepartmental initiatives when required.
• Represent product interests in governance bodies and digital transformation programs.
Vision, Innovation & Enablement
• Stay current on industry trends, digital reinsurance platforms, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI in underwriting, e-placement tools).
• Lead initiatives that enhance automation, data quality, and user experience for origination and deal tracking tools.
• Champion change management and adoption of new tools/processes among underwriting and front-office teams.
About the Team
You will be part of a high-performing team with very diverse skillsets and expertise across multiple locations. Together, we are the trusted advisor and partner for the Reinsurance business in relation to the sales and origination processes, tools, analytics and artificial intelligence thereby are a core element of our digital transformation that enables and accelerates transformation to a performance driven Origination organization. We act as the product owners of several platforms such as Reinsurance Customer Relationship Management tool and Seismic and analytics offerings therefore are the interface between IT, business departments and external service providers. We ensure that Sales and Marketing tools are used optimally, and data is maintained accurately and leveraged to its utmost potential to drive decisions.
About You
• 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Knowledge of the (re)insurance business processes, especially deal origination and client engagement through at least 5 years' experience. Hands-on experience in Sales, Sales Ops or Marketing is a key advantage.
• 5+ years of change management experience, proven track record in increasing adoption of tools in a comparable environment and increasing positioning/awareness of tool and team.
• Skilled at identifying hidden patterns, connecting non-obvious insights, and shaping them into clear, strategic messages that influence senior stakeholders and drive transformative change without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinker with a proven ability to solve complex challenges, even in high-pressure or rapidly changing environments.
• You are fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 3,300] and [EUR 5,400] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
