Senior Accountant

About the Team

 

General Ledger Accounting Services team is responsible for supporting European, Asian, and American entities of Swiss Re Group according to internal guidelines, US GAAP, IFRS and local accounting policies and tax requirements. As a member of the team, you support legal entity and branch accounting and closing activities. You seek possibilities to further develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes and collaboration with our partners.

 

Main customers: Group Finance, Tax teams, Internal & External Audit

 

About the role

 

  • Provide timely and accurate non-technical accounting services according to internal guidelines, regulatory and Group requirements

  • Perform quarterly closing activities of defined entities

  • Support financial controlling of selected entities with focus on group requirements (payable/receivable sign- offs, reconciliations for the accounts under our ownership, and related tasks)

  • Provide accurate financial information to the management to enable timely and current decisions to be made

  • Financial reporting to local tax teams

  • Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements

  • Support audit activities and prepare requested information

  • Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required

  • Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities

  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required

 

About You 

 

  • You have three to five years of work experience in accounting/financial reporting

  • You are qualified in Accounting, Audit, Finance and/or university degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration

  • Knowledge of accounting and regulatory frameworks

  • Understanding of financial risk and control processes

  • Experience in the use of standard bookkeeping software for financial accounting

  • SAP experience is an advantage

  • Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Great teammate with good communication skills

  • You are engaged and motivated

  • Fluent written and spoken English

 

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2000 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
