Senior Business Analyst

About the Role:

As part of the Business Excellence team, you would thrive in a role that sits at the intersection of business, technology, and strategy. Working closely with our delivery teams across RDS, your role would be key to ensuring that strategic direction is translated into clear, actionable solutions. You will bring structure to ambiguity, define requirements, and stay engaged through implementation to ensure solutions work effectively in practice.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse tooling, data and processes to investigate business problems, identify root causes and translate them into defined improvement initiatives.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define and agree proposed solutions, and ensure they are practical, understood, fully documented, and compliant with enterprise standards.
• Take end-to-end ownership of system, data and process improvement initiatives, from initial definition and scoping, through to successful end to end adoption.
• Turn business requirements into unambiguous, structured specifications for technical teams to deliver against.
• Collaborate closely with technology and tooling teams to design robust and maintainable solutions aligned with Swiss Re standards.
• Act as the focal point for business tooling used within RDS, managing change requests, UAT, release communication and tooling adoption.
• Build domain knowledge across RDS.

About the Team:

Risk Data Solutions is a growing business unit within Swiss Re, bringing together a global team to deliver software, data, and consulting solutions that help our clients better understand and manage risk in an increasingly complex world.

The Business Excellence team sits within Operations, working across the UK and Slovakia and closely collaborating with colleagues in Zurich, the US and India to create connected and scalable solutions across the whole of RDS. The team is small, friendly and encouraging and we share the core values of collaboration, ownership and implementing effectively.

About you:

You are a structured and analytical thinker who enjoys bringing clarity to complex situations. You are comfortable working across both business and technology teams and can challenge constructively when things are unclear. You take ownership from problem definition through to implementation, ensuring solutions are not only well-designed but work effectively in practice. Your wide experience gives you the capability to tackle initiatives ranging from smaller business-as-usual change requests, through to RDS-wide system, data and process implementations.

Essentials

• Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in data, technology, or operational environments
• Strong analytical and problem-structuring skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity
• Experience of managing delivery of new system or data-related tools, including system transformations
• Ability to engage and communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
• Experience of working in cross-functional and international teams

Nice to Haves

• Experience in Financial Services or a regulated, data-driven environment
• Exposure to enterprise architecture or working with strategy functions
• Knowledge of project management fundamentals
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 3300 and EUR 5400 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

•  the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​

•  the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
