Senior Connectivity Network Engineer
Join our network team at Swiss Re and help strengthen global resilience. As Senior Connectivity Network Engineer, you will define network standards, adopt the latest technologies, and oversee network concepts for our digital solutions.
About the Role
The Senior Connectivity Network Engineer acts as a Subject Matter Expert on network aspects for the DDI and Load Balancing product portfolio, supporting IT projects in On-Prem and Cloud integrations. Responsibilities include developing new products based on business needs, setting standards, collaborating across teams, and ensuring project success. Provides technical assistance for issues that cannot be resolved within operations and reviews product and integration architecture. Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
⦁ Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers, Service Managers, internal stakeholders, and external IT partners.
⦁ Offer expert guidance on EfficientIP DDI platforms and F5 Load Balancing technologies.
⦁ Design and implement DDI solutions and F5 LTM configurations—including virtual servers, pools, nodes, profiles, iRules, and health monitors—in alignment with the enterprise network architecture.
⦁ Configure and administer DNS, DHCP scopes, IP address allocations, and failover protocols.
⦁ Diagnose and resolve advanced DDI issues and Layer 4–7 traffic as well as application delivery challenges in multi-vendor environments.
⦁ Provide technical leadership on Efficient IP and F5 platform migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
⦁ Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, best practices, and operational procedures.
⦁ Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices related to enterprise achritecture
About the Team
The Network Connectivity Team manages all network engineering and operations for Swiss Re worldwide, covering SD-WAN, perimeter security, Data Centres, LAN & Wi-Fi, DDI, and load balancers. We set the company's network strategy and maintain global IT infrastructure that reliably connects people and technology. We're seeking a network engineer familiar with core network concepts and practices in DDI and Load Balancing area.
About You
You will work in a diverse team, learning new technologies, handling network solutions, and sharing knowledge. The role emphasizes integrity, teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a hybrid work setting.
⦁ Strong experience with DDI EfficientIP SOLIDserver
⦁ In-depth knowledge of DNS (BIND/Unbound), DHCP, IPAM and DDI security principles
⦁ Working experiences with Load balancing technology, F5 Big-IP LTM architecture and configuration
⦁ Understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and DNS.
⦁ Familiarity with DDI automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Shell), creating and troubleshooting iRules and traffic policies.
⦁ Experience in enterprise networking and security integration.
⦁ Ability to analyze logs, packets, and configurations for issue resolution.
⦁ Enjoying understanding new technologies and shaping new products for our customers
⦁ Designing solutions, preparing documentation, effective communication, marketplace assessment, and translating requirements into practical outcomes.
