Senior Financial Analyst
About the Team
International Financial Management team´s mandate is to technically account for transactions of policies included in International Program and thereby to ensure compliant and efficient risk transfers and cash flows between Corporate Solutions local offices and its reinsurance partners.
The Team is responsible for reporting, analytics, and commentaries regarding International Programs, preparation of monthly cashflow/aged debt reports, consolidation of accounts by client programme, quarterly external retrocession reconciliation and for performing tasks during quarterly closing, for example retrocession recalculation and preparation of manual closing adjustments. With the growth of the International Programs, we are now looking for new colleagues to join our team.
The role covers the tasks related to regular transaction processing and quarterly financial closings, including reporting, loss recovery recalculation and reconciliation of transactions related to external reinsurance partners. You will also be responsible for task finalisation in a timely and accurate manner.
Ideally, the candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively and solid knowledge of insurance principles/ terminology. You will collaborate with
International Management team members, Corporate Solutions IT, Operations and other functional areas as needed.
About the Role
Main responsibilities:
- Provide regular reporting related to Swiss Re closings and reconciliations.
- Process outgoing payment and statements related to assigned International Programs.
- Perform reconciliations of International Programs transactions using various Swiss Re data sources.
- Cooperate with other functions (internally/externally) to resolve reconciliation findings.
- Manage process of loss recovery recalculation by operating automatized tools or manual adjustments.
- Monitor, revise and keep the track of any follow up tasks originating from the reconciliation or recalculation process.
- Timely respond to inquiries from other functions, management and partners.
- Define, implement and manage processes related to risk control for International Programs
- Control over the risk assessment.
- Ad-hoc tasks such as project work, system enhancement, reports and analysis
Other:
- Actively support announced audits.
- Participate in meetings and trainings for the purpose of conveying information required to perform job functions.
- Contribute to team effort by assisting other team member when necessary.
- Duties as assigned.
About You
- University graduate with primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics and with at least 4-5 years of relevant working experience in insurance/reinsurance.
- Previous reporting experience.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output to short deadlines and manage details without losing sight of the "big picture".
- Strong communication skills, in particular ability to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience, both written and verbal.
- Ability to translate outcomes into clear, actionable strategies.
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel.
- Proficiency in other data analytics/automatization tools is desirable.
- Commitment to continues process improvement.
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
- Excellent interpersonal with demonstrated ability to work well and build trust with others.
- Experience in insurance and on personal accountability for areas of responsibility.
- Stress resilient, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to support expected peak periods that require high commitment towards the working hours compared to "low" season when those hours can be compensated.
The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 1700 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
