Senior Investment Analyst and Controller (Hybrid)

About the role
As Senior Investment Analyst you will be responsible for validating investment transactions in the sub-ledger and verification of system calculations for wide portfolio of financial assets, having direct impact on the reporting under IFRS and other accounting standards.
You will have opportunity to strengthen your knowledge of a complex variety of investment products, understanding of relevant accounting principles, participation on projects, implementation of theory into practise via building and testing newly created tools and reporting solutions. You will work closely with partners from different Swiss Re departments and take ownership over complex end to end processes.
Key responsibilities:
• Analysing and recalculating investment P&L results for Senior management (amortization, dividend income, investment income and accruals, realized and unrealized gains or losses)
• Reviewing and validating investment transactions, market values and cash flows to ensure data accuracy and appropriate financial reporting,
• Validating and substantiating asset classes, such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, alternative investments, etc.,
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies between internal records and external sources,
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls over financial reporting (ICoFR),
• Preparing process manuals and internal policies,
• Supporting and leading process automatization and improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency,
• Collaborating with internal and external auditors.
About the team
You will be part of Investment Validations and Analysis team within Investment Accounting department, located in Bratislava. Our responsibilities range from validation of investment transactions and balances, projection reporting, coordination of the end to end impairment and expected credit loss process, pricing of equity method investments, verification and calculation of external and internal management fees, various materiality and accounting assessments. We are also in charge of many projects, reviewing accounting standards and doing process innovations.

About you
You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Your ability to collaborate across teams, communicate effectively, and adapt to new challenges makes you a valuable team player. You thrive in a dynamic environment where you can apply financial expertise, investment knowledge, to enhance reporting accuracy, and drive process improvements.
Essentials:
• University degree with degree in Accounting or Finance, Banking or Economics,
• 3-5 years of Finance experience in financial institutions or "big 4", asset management, financial control, investment operation, fund accounting or investment reconciliations,
• Strong reconciliation, controlling or accounting skills,
• Strong MS Office and fluency in English (written and spoken),
• Proactive problem-solving approach with open-minded thinking,
• Understanding of different asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternative investments, etc.),
• Familiarity with types of investment transactions, P&L impacts and valuation concepts,
• Familiarity with IFRS accounting standards.
The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 2100 – 3400 EUR full time.
