Senior Network Architect

Join a team of network professionals and help Swiss Re to fulfil its mission in making the world more resilient. In this role you'll be tasked with defining the network standards – along with the latest network technologies – for our network setup and supervising network concepts for various digital solutions used in Swiss Re.

About the role

 

You would serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for network-related aspects of the entire IaaS product portfolio throughout various phases of IT projects, such as Public and Private Cloud integration. It involves developing new products and services based on business requirements and establishing standards and guidelines for various products and technologies, close and dedicated collaboration with other teams and projects across the organization is essential and mandatory for success. 

 

In this role you would also:

  • Work in close collaboration with Network Engineers, Service managers and other internal services departments, as well as with external IT Service Providers. 

  • Act as a technical contact for our global network footprint, and you will have a chance to work on cutting-edge solutions used by all Swiss Re employees worldwide. 

  • Optimize the existing environment by evaluating and developing new technologies/products/concepts and leads proof of concepts; manages roadmaps and product portfolios. 

  • Provide technical assistance for issues that cannot be resolved within operations and reviews product and integration architecture. 

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps. 

 

About the team

Our team is the focal point for all network activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for network engineering and operations, within all network areas services (e.g. SD-WAN, Perimeter, Network DataCenter, LAN & Wi-Fi, DDI, Load balancers) globally. We define and advance the company's network strategy. We operate the Swiss Re core IT infrastructure platforms which always connect people with people as well as people with technology globally anytime. 

 

About you

 

As a team member, you will work in an Agile (Scrum) and multicultural environment. You will learn new concepts and technologies, take responsibility for end-to-end network solutions, and share your knowledge within the organization.

  • Strong network technology knowledge and experience with Cisco ISE, WLC, DNA, Office LAN, and Wireless LAN area, Network access control mechanism (802.1x, MAB)

  • Proficiency with IPAM and DNS/DHCP systems

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN, and VPN technologies (site to site, overlay networking)

  • Working experiences in Public cloud networking

  • Knowledge of Network Security principles

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills relating to networking implementations

  • Ability to carry out detailed network and security analyses (troubleshooting, developing optimization proposals etc)

  • Enjoying understanding new technologies and shaping new products for our customers

 

Nice to have

  • Basic automation tooling knowledge for e.g., skills in Python, Ansible, or Terraform for network automation.

  • Secure Edge and Zero Trust principles

 

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 3,800] and [EUR 6,300] per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
•    the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, 
•    the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
