Senior Software Fullstack Engineer (Strong Back End Expertise)

About the Role 

As the Senior Back-End Engineer, you will design and develop software solutions, assist fellow engineers through peer coding and reviews, and lead discussions on development approaches and best practices. Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate business needs into robust technological solutions that align with the product vision and roadmap.  

Your responsibilities will be: 

• Design and develop back-end software solutions deployed in cloud-based environments at scale. 

• Maintain the performance, scalability, and security of software applications, ensuring they meet high standards of reliability for clients. 

• Participate in design workshops with architects, review sessions with software engineers, and support engineering managers and product owners in driving SDLC processes. 

• Effectively use new technologies to build and launch Proof of Concepts (PoC) with a prototyping approach. 

• Collaborate with peers to ensure software engineering best practices are followed properly and efficiently.

Must-have experience  

  • Strong hands-on coding capabilities with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot, including Spring Security, request interceptors, background/asynchronous jobs, and custom annotations. 

  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL), schema versioning (Flyway), and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA). 

  • Experience with API design and cross-service communication, including REST APIs, messaging, JSON serialization, API management, and integration patterns. 

  • Experience with build, CI/CD, containerization, and deployment, using Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines), Docker, and Kubernetes/AKS. 

  • Strong understanding of secure software design and coding, including static code analysis, vulnerability scanning, and remediation. 

  • Experience developing scalable, reliable, highly available cloud-native applications, including cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and resource provisioning. 

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC/Terraform) and cloud observability, including OpenTelemetry, Application Insights, structured logging, metrics, and tracing. 

  • Experience across the software delivery lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing and release, with the ability to document technical architecture and guide/coach fellow engineers. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Frontend development experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to understand and contribute to an existing frontend codebase when required. 

  • Familiarity with modern frontend development practices, including component-based architecture, state management, REST API integration, testing, and frontend build tooling. 

  • Experience with one or more web/application servers 

 

For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 3,800 and EUR 6,300 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
