Software Engineer in Test (Hybrid Set up)
About the role
In your role as a Software Engineer in Test with focus on designing and implementing automated testing frameworks and end to end tests, you will be integral to iptiQ's mission, working on critical projects that align with our strategic needs. You'll have the flexibility to move between topics and projects, growing with our dynamic industry and contributing to an ecosystem that's constantly evolving. We value versatility and leadership, and we rely on our engineers to be proactive and enthusiastic in tackling new challenges across the tech spectrum. What´s more, you will be working in a hybrid setup (50:50), perfectly balancing work from home and the office premises.
Our Technology Stack
Our cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform runs on AWS. We use Kotlin, Java, SpringBoot, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL on the backend, and ReactJS and TypeScript on the frontend. Our continuous delivery pipeline leverages GitLab. We are using Prometheus, ElasticSearch, Kibana and Grafana as our logging and monitoring stack. And most importantly: we perform end to end testing of our GraphQl APIs and UI using JavaScript, Typescript and Cypress as a test framework, while performance testing is conducted with Gatling using Java.

You will:

Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automated tests for new functionalities in close collaboration with domain and product teams, ensuring seamless integration, high performance and cost optimization

Drive the implementation of our quality engineering vision, focusing on improving test reliability, execution speed, configurability, scalability and minimizing flakiness

Enhance test and code coverage visibility, contribute to the availability of quality metrics, and contribute to improved transparency and traceability of test outcomes.

Continuously improve test reporting to provide actionable feedback to engineers and stakeholders.

Contribute to the evolution of our CI/CD pipelines by integrating high-quality, efficient tests and removing bottlenecks to streamline delivery.

Champion our shift-left testing approach by applying modern testing methodologies, tools, and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
About you

Enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment, and dealing with a certain level of uncertainty in processes and requirements.

Demonstrated track record of proficiency in several elements of our technology stack, including Java, Kotlin , JavaScript, TypeScript, Cypress (as a test framework), Gatling and Docker.

You bring engineering excellence to your work – whether it's writing clean, maintainable test code or thinking critically about how systems behave.

You communicate effectively, whether you are pairing with Product Engineers, collaborating with domain owners or contributing to cross-team initiatives.

You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to tackling testing challenges.
Bonus points if you have experience with..

Financial services industry, especially with focus on insurance and LH products.

Microservices architecture and working with complex systems.

AWS experience, particularly with testing infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, S3, etc.)

Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

EventModeling, CICD or Data Mesh, AI for testing.
For Slovakia, the base salary range for this position is between [EUR 2,200] and [EUR 3,700] (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
