Student Application Engineer

About the role and the team
As a Student Application Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals in the field. You will gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in Back-End or Front-End applications development and processing using technologies like Java – Spring Boot, Security, Reactive Programming, Angular – Type Script, etc. You will also learn how to work with data platforms like Palantir Foundry. This role is perfect for students who are enthusiastic about technology and eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
Our team is responsible for development and operations of risk management platform running in the cloud, which is used by the entire organization to support critical processes across the company. The Risk Management IT teams are globally distributed, with main hubs in Zurich, Bratislava, and India, and we collaborate daily.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of the platform
- Application development based on Java ( Spring Boot ) and Type-script ( Angular)
- Collaborate with team members to understand stakeholder's requirements and deliver solutions
- Maintain application quality
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation
About you
- Basic knowledge one of Java, .NET or similar programming language
- Basic knowledge one of Java Script, Type Script
- Basic knowledge of markup languages ( XML, HTML )
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Curious and open-minded, with a willingness to learn and adapt
- Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program
The minimum gross base salary for this role is 10 EUR/ per hour. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
