About the Role
We are looking for an experienced SwiftRe® Expert with strong expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) underwriting processes, underwriting tools, and digital underwriting platforms to support the continued evolution of SwiftRe®.
The role requires deep understanding of the end-to-end facultative reinsurance underwriting lifecycle, including submission intake, risk assessment, pricing, referral workflows, policy issuance, accounting, and claims interaction.
As a key link between underwriting business teams and technology organizations, you will help drive underwriting workflow enhancements, system integrations, and digital transformation initiatives across the SwiftRe® platform.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting Process & Platform Expertise
- Provide SME support on P&C underwriting processes, workflows, controls, and best operational practices
- Analyze and optimize end-to-end underwriting workflows and digital processes
- Support enhancement of underwriting operating models, tools, and platform capabilities
- Ensuring alignment with business, compliance, audit, and governance requirements
Underwriting Tools & Delivery
- Act as business expert for underwriting systems, workflow tools, and digital underwriting platforms
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with underwriting, product, design, and technology teams to improve automation, efficiency, and user experience
- Support integration across underwriting, accounting, claims, and reporting systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation and straight-through processing (STP)
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management
- Conduct workshops and gather business requirements from underwriting stakeholders
- Map business processes, identify gaps, and recommend scalable solutions
- Act as liaison between business and IT delivery teams
- Support solution design discussions, prioritization, change management, and user adoption
Testing & Operational Support
- Participate in UAT planning, execution, and validation activities
- Ensure delivered solutions meet underwriting and operational requirements
- Support troubleshooting, incident resolution, and process improvements
- Assist business and technology teams in delivering initiatives accurately and on time
About the Team
SwiftRe® is Swiss Re’s digital facultative reinsurance platform providing online P&C reinsurance coverage globally. The platform supports the end-to-end underwriting lifecycle, including risk placement, underwriting management, accounting, and claims processes.
Our global team is focused on building a scalable, automated, and client-centric digital underwriting ecosystem that supports Swiss Re’s digital transformation journey.
About You
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance or reinsurance
- Strong expertise in underwriting processes, underwriting operations, and underwriting technology platforms
- Deep understanding of facultative underwriting workflows and digital underwriting environments
- Experience with underwriting tools, workflow systems, policy administration platforms, or underwriting workbenches
- Proven experience in business analysis, requirement gathering, and functional specification development
- Experience supporting underwriting transformation or digitalization initiatives
- Good understanding of underwriting data, process controls, accounting, and claims dependencies
Technical & Functional Skills
- Experience with underwriting workflow tools, digital platforms, process automation, system integration, and UAT/testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional teams
Education
- Master’s degree in Business, Insurance, Mathematics, Finance, or related field preferred
- Insurance or actuarial qualifications are an advantage
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between 3 200 EUR and 5 300 EUR per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
