Tax and Transfer Pricing Analyst

We are looking for a Tax and Transfer Pricing Analyst for our Global Tax Operations team to work with regional and central tax teams on income tax reporting and compliance, data management and analytics. This role also involves  global and local transfer pricing documentation preparation, related party transactions review and handling tax and transfer pricing audits as needed.

You will have the opportunity to support various income tax processes. You will become a key team member in tax operations and gain an overview about income tax processes across multiple jurisdictions within EMEA and Americas as well as transfer pricing issues globally. You will act as business partner for regional tax managers and support them in preparation corporate income tax reporting and compliance data packages,  and transfer pricing documentation for every region. As part of the Global Tax Operations Team, you can also contribute to global process optimization and tax projects.

 

About the Role

Your key accountabilities in this role would be:

  • Managing data delivery for income tax compliance, including gathering and aggregation of tax data, review and confirming accuracy of data packages
  • Liaison with regional tax and finance teams and outsourcing providers
  • First level analytical review of the tax returns and reporting packages  
  • Performing tax account reconciliations, managing tax payments and tax bookings
  • Gathering and reviewing information on intra-group transactions to produce transfer pricing reports for submission to tax authorities around the world
  • Maintain records to meet various compliance and audit requests and support the regional tax teams in tax and transfer pricing audits
  • Establishing proficiency in Swiss Re finance and IT systems and tax tools
  • Undertaking ongoing reviews of income tax processes and respective documentation, identifying improvements and efficiencies
  • Maintenance of workpapers and end user applications, support in implementation of changes across tax processes, systems and data

 

About the Team

As part of Swiss Re's Global Tax Operations, a team that partners with regional tax teams on delivery of corporate income tax and indirect tax compliance and reporting for over 20 countries globally, the Direct Tax Operations Team based in Bratislava focuses specifically on EMEA and US region. This role is a hybrid role with the Transfer Pricing team based in Zürich and Bratislava. The Transfer Pricing team has a global mandate to provide efficient and effective transfer pricing documentation as well as to actively manage audit defense for transfer pricing related topics.

 

About You

You will have the following:

  • University degree in finance, accounting, economics or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a tax or transfer pricing function or accounting 
  • Strong analytical skills with interest in information systems, technology, data and analysis
  • Strong problem solving, organization, and communication skills and ability effectively liaise and coordinate information across global teams.  
  • Enthusiasm, high energy and willingness to work in a dynamic environment, embracing new challenges and striving to continuously improve technical know how
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, knowledge of SAP, tax technology software and data analytics tools is a plus
  • Basic understanding of IFRS, US GAAP and/or local statutory accounting principles is an advantage
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is a must.

 

For Slovakia, the base salary range for the Tax & Transfer Pricing Analyst position is between EUR 2,100 and EUR 3,400 per month. The specific salary offered considers:​

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, ​
  • the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.​
