What does the role offer you?
This role provides you with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our core business and the multi-dimensional financial reporting of two major legal entities of Swiss Re Group, Swiss Re Europe (Reinsurance) and Swiss Re International (CorSo). As the team lead of a team of 4 Finance professionals in the Bratislava location, you will shape the performance and spirit of this team, optimize processes and continue the path of enhancing operational simplification and efficiency in line with Group Finance ambitions.
Under your lead, the team is the key contributor to prepare, analyse and report all relevant financial statements of the two Luxembourg-based legal entities, both for local accounting standards of its headquarter and its various branches as well as the required regulatory reporting. This also includes the monitoring of the closing, performance of quality assurance activities, analysis of the financial information for all relevant valuations and understanding the business drivers, reporting to senior management, and contributing to a strong controls environment.
Main tasks:
• Lead and develop legal entity reporting team in the Bratislava location by engaging, motivating, providing regular open feedback and creating trusty relationship;
• Ensure effective resource allocation of regular tasks and projects;
• Execute and support the quarterly close of the local financial statements by monitoring the closing process, performing quality assurance activities and provide accounting guidance;
• Steer the analytical information process, review information received from other teams as well as perform analytical procedures to understand the legal entity's story line;
• Prepare on a quarterly or annually basis the reporting to Management Committee and Board of Directors or other internal and external stakeholders;
• Establish a network and closely collaborate with the respective key stakeholders of the team across the organization;
• Be responsible for high-quality, robust processes for all reporting deliverables of your team;
• Contribute to, or take ownership of, the various Legal Entity Finance initiatives and projects;
• Contribute to improving processes and systems to ensure compliance with relevant risk and control frameworks and audit requirements, and to meet internal management and Board expectations.
About the Team
We are the SRE & SRI Legal Entity Finance team, part of the Global Carrier Management unit of Group Finance. The team's footprint stretches from Luxembourg across Bratislava to the UK and Zurich.
About You
We would be happy to meet you if you have the following skills:
• University degree, preferably in finance/accounting/economics and with a minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience, audit experience would be an advantage;
• Proven team lead experience with a minimum of 3 years;
• Knowledge and experience in the preparation of complex financial statements, ideally in the financial industry, preferable in (re-) insurance reporting
• Strong analytical skills and holistic approach and ability to work with complex details and apply good business judgement and deliver high-quality and timely output independently;
• Ability to multi-task, work under tight deadlines and on your own initiative;
• Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong stakeholder management focus;
• Intercultural competencies and the ability to understand complex (system-) processes. Keen to learn and to quickly adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment;
• Highly motivated individual used to working in a performance driven, professional and international environment;
• Excellent command of English language.
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 3,200 and EUR 5,300 per month (for a full-time role).

• the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus.
