UX/UI Designer

About the team

We are a diverse and dynamic team of experienced and motivated individuals who are passionate about solving complex problems through simple, intuitive designs.

Our Design Team is organized around products – and you will be too. Instead of time-boxed projects, we are responsible for the experience design of a landscape of products at various stages of their lifecycle.

Our product portfolio consists of more than 150 web and mobile applications supporting reinsurance business functions such as Sales, Underwriting, and Claims Management.

Our guiding principles are collaboration, pragmatism, and agility. We strive to create experiences that are intuitive, scalable, and impactful, helping our users work more effectively.

We are looking for a UX/UI Designer with a proven track record of designing high-quality digital experiences. Given the complexity of our industry, we value creative problem solvers who enjoy tackling sophisticated business, technical, and analytical challenges and translating them into meaningful user experiences.

About the role

As a UX/UI Designer, you will help shape intuitive, scalable, and impactful digital experiences across a portfolio of products. You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Experts, Engineers, and fellow Designers to understand user needs, define solutions, and deliver experiences that balance user value, business objectives, and technical feasibility.

You will contribute both as a hands-on designer and as a strategic partner, helping teams make informed decisions about product direction, experience quality, and consistency across our digital product landscape.

About the role

  • Drive the end-to-end design process from discovery through delivery for one or more digital products.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Experts, Engineers, and Designers to create solutions that are desirable, feasible, and viable.

  • Apply user research, usability testing, journey mapping, and other user-centred design practices to inform product decisions.

  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma and our design system.

  • Apply UX patterns, interaction design principles, accessibility standards, and systems thinking to create intuitive and consistent experiences.

  • Contribute to product strategy by identifying user needs and opportunities across end-to-end workflows and the broader product ecosystem.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design quality and successful implementation.

  • Use data, analytics, and user feedback to continuously evaluate and improve product experiences.

  • Contribute to the evolution and governance of our Figma-based design system, built on Google Material Design M2, including reusable components, patterns, libraries, design tokens, and documentation.

  • Create and maintain scalable Figma components using variables, variants, properties, Auto Layout, and clear component architecture.

  • Stress-test components and patterns across realistic and edge-case scenarios, including responsive behaviour, content variability, complex data states, localization, and accessibility.

  • Help maintain consistency between Figma and coded components by collaborating with Engineers on component behaviour, states, tokens, and implementation.

  • Explore emerging technologies, including AI-assisted design and development workflows, where they create meaningful value for users and teams.

About you

  • 3+ years of experience in UX/UI, Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related field; experience in complex B2B environments is a plus.

  • Strong proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows.

  • Strong understanding of UX patterns, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles.

  • Experience working with design systems and component-based design, including components, variants, variables, libraries, and design tokens.

  • Familiarity with Material Design and the principles behind scalable component systems.

  • Ability to systematically evaluate designs across edge cases, responsive behaviours, accessibility requirements, and complex application states.

  • Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design principles; WCAG knowledge is a plus.

  • Comfortable applying user-centred design methods, including research, usability testing, journey mapping, and iterative design.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and storytelling skills.

  • Systems thinker who can balance detailed design execution with broader product, service, and business goals.

  • Curious about AI, automation, and emerging technologies and how they can improve design practice and user experiences.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, learning continuously, and helping teams move from complexity to clarity.

Nice to Have

  • Experience maintaining or contributing to a large-scale Figma design system.

  • Experience with Material Design M2, design tokens, and design-system governance.

  • Experience collaborating with developers on coded component libraries or Storybook.

  • Experience with accessibility testing and complex enterprise or data-rich applications.

  • Familiarity with analytics and data-informed design practices.
