Underwriting Assistant Innovative Risk Solutions (m/f) (80 - 100%) 2

About the Role

 

The role supports our Innovative Risk Solutions (IRS) team across EMEA and partially for APAC in the handling of non-standard insurance contracts for our corporate customers and their brokers. Duties and responsibilities directly impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability and accuracy of the underwriting process as well as the service delivery to customers and brokers. This position may require occasional travel for business meetings or training.

 

Your main tasks will include the following:

 

  • Assume responsibility as Underwriting Assistant to IRS Structurers and involved Underwriters to accurately reflect the unique terms and conditions of IRS business written in our administration systems

  • To coordinate with local UAs, International Program Managers (if applicable) and TA to implement and execute our business

  • To support local UAs in the preparation and issuance of documents (binders, policies, certificates, endorsements) to our customers

  • To issue invoices where required, including Insurance Premium Tax calculations, and to work with our centralized Technical Accounting team to reconcile and follow up on all transaction positions (premium, LCBs if any, etc.)

  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IRS business across regions

  • Participating on and leading small projects, if required, representing the unique IRS operation's needs

  • Actively support streamlining and implementing processes for IRS in the different teams and provide input for system enhancements

 

Additionally, you will:

 

  • Compile, sort, review and verify data accuracy using source documents, detect errors, and initiate correction while following-up with customer or process owner regarding any inconsistencies found

  • Be part of interdisciplinary deal teams, represent Operations and own operational performance vis-à-vis our customers and internal stakeholders

  • Support the development and extension of the IRS job family within CorSo

  • Be involved in work allocation, knowledge sharing and issue resolution

  • Follow-up on outstanding information or items as per internal guidelines following standard operating procedures

 

About the Team

 

In EMEA Operations we provide support to the Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (CorSo) Underwriting Teams in handling insurance and reinsurance business for corporations and/or their captives.

You will be joining the team in Manchester, Folkestone, or Bratislava, having a variety of proficiencies, skills and experience, all committed to bring success to Corporate Solutions. In this role you will work closely with the EMEA Operations teams in centralized and offshore locations as well as your peers in other EMEA locations. Would you be interested to join our team?

You have:

 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years similar job experience and understanding of insurance business processing as well as complex insurance solutions

  • Any further business administration related education is an advantage

  • Excellent communication skills (reading, written and verbal) in English are a requirement - any other European language is a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize, plan, coordinate and manage personal work

  • Strong user skills in Microsoft Office Package (special focus on Excel)

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 1600 EUR full time. Our final offer to you will be set up fairly, considering the skills and experience that you bring to the Swiss Re Group.
